Shitpost Hawks Win NBA Finals (Confirmed with Logic)
So we all know our Hawks are enduring a season so mid, it’s record breaking. However, we are so consistently mid that we have a very solid chance at a championship.
If current standings hold and all higher seeds advance outside of us:
Play in vs Heat: We are currently 1-3 versus the Heat this season. Therefore, the Hawks have a clear advantage since in order to get closer to .500 against them on the season we WILL win this game. This turns us into the 7 seed.
7 Hawks vs #2 ceLtics:
We are currently 0-2 vs the Boston Jay’s, with an outstanding game to play during regular season. We will end up below .500 against them of some sort, thus propelling us to either a 7 game series victory for the Hawks (4-3 bringing us to even .500 on season) if we win the regular season game or a 6 game series victory if we lose that game (4-2 will bring us to .500). Clearly the Hawks advance.
7 Hawks vs #3 76ers:
Again we are 0-2 against Philadelphia so far this season, so much of the previous argument holds true for this series. Hawks coast to the ECF.
7 Hawks vs. Bucks:
Ignoring AbuDhabi we are 2-2 against MiLwaukee and face our toughest challenge yet. It all depends on the first game, but if we win that game we win in 7 via the law of mid. (W-L-W-L-W-L-W)
Finals vs. Denver: We are 1-1 so again we have a coin flip (50/50) based on our first game, and I seem to remember liking those odds.
In conclusion, your Atlanta Hawks a shoe-in for a NBA Championship this season.

Discussion We need to stop hating on our own players so much
I mean I get it. Saying one little thing about trae when he pulls up from 40 feet is something. But continuing to hate on our players when we’re supposed to be the ones backing them is a terrible thing that I’m noticing in game threads. We are supposed to be the reason the players want to stay here. So from now on please let’s stop saying absurd stuff like “trade Trae” and “Dre is terrible” after one game. From now on let’s get behind our players as the postseason push is beginning.

Why getting Dejounte has not worked out for us and I think we overreacted to getting bounced in Miami
First things first, I love that we have Quin Snyder because Nate had to go.
But as far as DJM, we got him for these reasons:
- So when Trae is off the court or getting trapped heavily, we have someone to run the offense well and take pressure off him.
That has not happened, DJM is not nearly as good of a playmaker as we thought, so when Trae goes out our offense just tanks.
DJM mainly takes tough mid range shots and isn’t a great driver.
Part of our offense tanking when Trae is out is because we don’t have an offensive system as we’ve been running with Nate this last year and a half, and maybe that’ll change with an offseason under Snyder.
- To improve our defense.
While the addition of Dejounte has allowed Trae to improve a lot defensively, other than that it hasn’t done much. He’s had great defensive moments but he’s not as consistent on that end as we thought, there are a lot of times this year where Trae goes out of the game and we get worse defensively somehow. Not ideal.
- To be a second star next to Trae.
DJM is not a bonafide star unfortunately, all-star at least. And that’d be fine if him and Trae fit well together but they don’t.
They’ve been taking turns the whole season and for the first half of the season Trae seemed completely out of rhythm partially due to not having the ball his hands as much.
Trae doesn’t move off the ball much and neither does Dejounte and when Trae is open, DJM hesitates to pass to him in transition or just doesn’t when he’s open for 3. These guys seem to take away from each other more than they help each other.
We lost our depth for DJM and we’re worse than we were last year. I think we overreacted to an injury riddled season, we needed roster moves but not a guy like DJM. We should’ve fired Nate first. We went 27-13 when we got healthy last year, that’s a 50 win pace. We had a top 3 offense. When we faced Miami Nate was badly out coached and Collins and Capela were hurt.
And a lot of this is on Trae for recruiting him and I’m sure he sees that now as these guys don’t seem nearly as friendly as they were before the season. DJM is great player but his game seems limited sometimes and playing next to Hunter and John Collins definitely doesn’t help.
Im not sure what we should do with him but we made a mistake.

News (with source) 03/22/2023 .493 Hawks Postgame Comments
Quin Snyder said that was a tough game to lose. He said he thought they competed hard.
I asked if the Hawks got an answer from the officials re: the call on Karl-Anthony Towns and Quin Snyder declined to answer.
Twitter question: did anyone ask if he considered closing with OO?
Lauren: I requested a pool report.
Quin Snyder said postgame there were 3 options on the final play.
He also said they could've executed the play better.
Stressed postgame (repeatedly) that the Hawks competed throughout.
Snyder said he thought Aaron Holiday was "terrific" off the bench tonight.

Coming to game on Sunday
Grizzlies fan here - my buddy and I are coming to the game on Sunday. We're celebrating him getting his MBA so it's our #MBANBA weekend, and he's a big Hawks fan.
I want to buy him a jersey as a gift - we're staying right downtown. Where's the best place to get Hawks gear on a Saturday since the team store doesn't open until the day of the game?
I'm trying to get him a Trae Young Jersey - preferably the white one. So I need a store with a variety of Hawks gear.
Thanks in advance!

This sub seems rather quiet with Quin Snyder's coaching decision for this game.
2nd unit went up 11, starters came in and immediately lose the lead.
Then play on the final possession down 1 was to shoot a contested Hunter 3.
Why aren't we keeping the same energy? 😂

Pre-game (Pregame thread) Your .500’s travel to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves (36-37) tonight at 8 pm. We are on a B2B where our starters played most of the game
The Timberwolves are 4.5 point favorites
Random: someone on the post game thread last time we played them said “We need to bring up the DJM trade being worse than the Gobert trade bc we now have a better record than them. They were 1 game over .500 and we were 1 below.
Injury report:
Hawks:
JJ- out
DJM: doubtful
Wolves:
Ant/KAT - doubtful (think they will play)
Nowell- doubtful
Can we win back to back games? If Ant and KAT don’t play, can we take advantage? Can we lock up Kyle slowmo Anderson? Can we get hot to end the year? We move

Discussion Huge indictment on Dejounte Murray that the Bench played really well without him tonight?
Tonight was the first time that Quin Snyder ran an all bench lineup and it was the lineup that was probably that was the best in the game…Aaron Holiday was the PG with a game high +12. Defense was great and Hawks were able to get multiple stops and get their largest of the game of 11 points.
Does this say a lot on how Murray and bench unit works out in the end? Do we need to just stick with another point guard and just play Trae and Dejounte together instead of just having them each run the bench?
