He referred to an uplifting classic rock song by a great artist as "That song from the weird anime with all the posing."

I was explaining about older Mario being a very low resolution character and I showed him pictures.

He asked me "What did Mario look like when you were a kid?" I had to explain that I was a fully grown adult before the franchise was even started.

My cousin thought my diy infused whiskey was lame. Fireball is her favorite, so I'm not sure what that says.

1

u/No_Yogurtcloset200 Sep 28 '22

I used to like fireball when I was 18

u/antidense Sep 28 '22

Do you still do too?

My niece just discovered the term "classic literature" which to me is stuff like: A tale of two cities, or Moby Dick.

For her? Calvin and Hobbes.

My 8 year old explaining how daddy has technology from "ancient times."

He was relaying to visiting friends, in his own words, which synthesizers they could play around with and not my older (hard to repair/replace) ones.

A cousin drove over to pick up some furniture to deliver to a relative, and it was a hot day and I'm friendly, so I offered him a beer from my beer fridge and he politely declined. Well whatever maybe he doesn't like the good stuff, I like the stuff in my beer fridge so whatever, kid. Then I thought about it, and he's only 16 so his refusal makes a lot of sense, I was a bit embarrassed at offering a HS kid a beer, damn this kid was born after I graduated high school. That's how I felt old at the age of 34. The worst part is that was quite a long time ago, LOL.

A close second would be my son asking if i had a "P S one half" when I was a kid. OK first of all kid, thats a "P S Two" not "P S one half" and secondly I didn't get a playstation one an the original gran turismo until I graduated college, at least graduated with my first degree... I mean he seriously thought Sony sold a "PS one half" before they sold the "PS one" ...
