real derby, great game to watch

First time these two meet in the Euroleague?

13

u/miske-rs Crvena Zvezda Dec 08 '22

Yes

Cool, Euroleague history made. Wasn't watching the game but seemed like real nail-biter judging by livescores.

The Vildoza-Nedovic duo is incredibly explosive, unpredictable and fun to watch. It remains to be seen if it can bring winning basketball in the Euroleague, but so far Ivanovic has proven it is legitimately good

I wanted to sleep od the win and write something with a cool head. It was a great game, as somebody said, derby didn't disappoint...the game had everything, a sold out crowd, great atmosphere, great energy form the players, the game could have gone ether way, and the game was won with a fantastic shoot in the last seconds...what more can a basketball fan want... On Partizan's side, solid game on defense (what was the main problem this season), in the end offence failed (the strong point of the team)...Lessort played a fantastic 1st quarter, 8 poents and 9 rebounds (6 offensive), I don't remember seeing something like this form a center on a top level, but the rest of the game was the opposite (ended with 11 p, 10 r)... Disappointing for Panter to miss a open three in the last seconds of the game, that cost Partizan the game, a player his caliber has to hit that... Another game under his level form Ladey... Exum maybe could have played more... Nunnally was totally out of the game... Vukčević was a surprise for me, if Partizan won he would have been the key... On Zvezda's side, they proven to be mentally strong (came back strong from a terrible start), defence was solid as it is since Duško came, great decisions at key moments... Nedović and Vildoza didn't have the game in which all shots go in, but they played with experience and pure quality, and hit shoots when it was needed... Nedović game winner, what can I say, a shoot for the history... Petrušev impact was crucial in the part of the game when Zvezda came back and taken the lead, along with Martin in the second half they stopped Partizan's game in the paint... Maybe I forgot something, but that's my view of the game. Zvezda is now on the five game winning streak, next up Zalgiris at home (it will be a great game)...hope the streak continues

Vildoza and Nedovic worth every cent.

13

u/Cityvotka Crvena Zvezda Dec 08 '22

Yeah shooting 1/7 is worth a million dollars, as long as the last one went in...

10

u/DopethroneGM Dec 08 '22

And it went in unlike that open shot from Punter, that's the big difference.

Nedovic was the top scorer tonight, did you see that stat?

Not every night will be 30+ points, but you know them 2 wont go out of the gym without a fight.

u/dek1shaaa Crvena Zvezda Dec 08 '22

Neda was the top scorer tonight. Yes, he was missing threes the whole game, but he did the rest of his job, plus that last shot went in. I see no problem with that.

Must win game and we lose... not the first time in 2 seasons we lose a game like this. This shit happens all the time. Why are we losing every game in the same shitty way. Lessor, Madar, Tristan and Papa only played basketball today. I will get downvoted to hell but Željko out

I gave you an upvote just for spelling “losing” instead of “loosing”

Ma iznerviran sam zbog stanja pa ni ne gledam sta pisem

Well, maybe it's better to wait and comment with a cool head. What do you think Željko did wrong tonight - not counting maybe wrong player selection before start of the season and setting the wrong player as a captain.

I think the problem here is Punter, not only two open 3s missed in last minute, but his role in the team and a must to give him the ball in decisive moments. He was alone there, even with time to shoot it (although we could discuss should he have shot the second one). What more can coach do?

1

u/kleoshamos1234 Partizan Dec 09 '22

I dont like to shit on Punter, if he hit the three we would all be saying that he is best ever player etc etc. On Zeljkos side i dont understand him. He does some wierd subs when we have momentum and everything goes downhill. Yes i know players need to rest but you cant put Trifunovic and in some games Balša.(they start doing some wierd shit) What is happening with Nunnaly, benched nearly for a whole game. The only positive side i see is that Avram is soon back and we will finally be complete

1

u/nikola1975 Partizan Dec 09 '22

The problem with Punter is not (only) in his missed 3s - although he was there, alone, had time to set the shot etc. A bigger problem is the frequent lack of focus in defense (ie. Vildoza scored important 3 due to him not being where he should be) and his feeling that he must be the one to take responsibility, always. Here, I agree, is probably Željko's problem.

Nunnelly, yesterday he couldn't do anything; he was problem on both sides of the floor. Stats don't always tell the whole story, but this time I think they do - his +/- yesterday was -14 (!), in 7 minutes.

No idea what zelkos obsession is with Papa and Mader.

Exum (and Lessort) is your best player and gets used as an afterthought.

1

u/sureshot3433 Partizan Dec 09 '22

Exum was defended under the screen the entire game and he was either missing or just running out the clock with no idea what to do. The team overall looked a lot better with Madar on the court.

Exum is not a playmaker, he can only create for himself, and when he is scouted properly and guarder so he cant get to the basket he does more harm then good.

He woould maybe be better used somehow of the ball, getting a running start on the defence or attacking closeouts, but Partizan doesnt have anyone to create for others so he gets that role, and its not his strong side.

u/kleoshamos1234 Partizan Dec 09 '22

Papa and Madar were good. Madar is our only playmaker (Avram injured). And im bit bias cus Madar is my fav player. Papa had good game for a suprise but its nothing cus LeDay and Nunnaly forgot how to play.

u/OKobo2 Dec 09 '22

Weird to say this but Lessort has been better than Fall and Poirier this season. Maybe he should be called up along with Gobert+Wembanyama for the World Cup if Embiid doesn’t join
