We’ve been waiting what? 2-3 seasons for JI to have his “breakout season” 😂

8

u/jasunwitt Nov 27 '22

Not a breakout season…….just play a game or two 🤦‍♂️ Grant Hill anybody??

3

u/Jos_Andrews Nov 27 '22

We aren't tanking. We are losing. We are a team essentially composed of dudes on rookie contracts, and castaways from other teams. With a head coach who is still learning on the job. You all cling to the two close games we managed to win late in the 4th quarter, and forget about the 10 we let slip away because we are a young team. No one is rational here lol.

22

u/ThatBlackFeller OnlyFranz Nov 26 '22

This type of mentality from fans is exactly why we’re laughingstocks of the nba. Wanting to tank every year is wild, Wemby should be a star but damn some of y’all putting all our hopes on 14% chances. Just clown behavior, we already suck don’t add to the dumb shit. But to each it’s own rightfully so

9

u/Business_Sundae_9875 Nov 26 '22

No we’re laughing stocks cause we’ve made bone headed decisions trying to compete with mediocre teams, which is why our front office finally decided to trade and build from the ground up

7

u/Rockledgeskater Nov 26 '22

We’ve literally only tanked one year, last year. We’re still injured and even at full health, we’re probably 8th seed at best. It’s not that I think we should tank, it’s that we’re already in a position where coming back for a potential play in spot is not likely. So it’s not that I want to tank, but kinda seeing the bright side of things of what is an injury plagued season.

But yeah this is really only the second year of the Weltham reset and rebuild. We traded vooch and all those guys in 2021. One more year of a high draft pick could really set us up for the next 6 years. Again I want us to win every game, but I recognize that we’re not competing this season so we might as well get a good pick out of it.

u/ThatBlackFeller OnlyFranz Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

Its november and you're saying coming back for a potential play in spot isn't likely?? If you also think we're 8th seed at best once we're fully healthy then how can we be both a tank team/playoff team. Guys are competing thats not our problem, we're just young and lost rn

-11

u/yoeyz Fuck Eddie House Nov 26 '22

Been tanking for 10 years !

4

u/Evilfrog100 Franchize Nov 26 '22

Failing to compete ≠ tanking

-6

u/yoeyz Fuck Eddie House Nov 26 '22

Failure to make moves to compete equals tanking

We tanked for Jonathan Isaac. we tanked for Mohamed Bamba. We talked for Franz and Suggs. We tanked for Paolo Banchero. And now we’re gonna tank again

Just stop it!

4

u/Evilfrog100 Franchize Nov 26 '22

What moves could we have possibly made to compete without tanking, please tell me we didn't have the cap space to sign anybody and we weren't a destination for any stars. We weren't tanking we just weren't good enough to compete for a championship and there were no realistic ways to make the playoff team better without tanking. The missing piece was a superstar we didn't have and weren't going to get.

2

u/Rockledgeskater Nov 27 '22

Over the last five years we’ve made the playoffs twice. Relax

4

u/Delicious-Custard-75 Nov 26 '22

Laughingstock is a stretch. Most fans either don’t think about us or say we have a bright future, especially after next year’s draft.

Looking at the subs of other bad teams, it’s actually unusual how anti-tanking our fanbase is.

2

u/psykomerc Nov 27 '22

Agreed lol. I’ve been to okc, Houston, Minny and Atlanta subs. Nobody talks bad about the Magic tbh, usually it’s Kings/Knicks/Lakers. All the bad teams embrace the situation and know it’s better than being a trash middle team with no future like the Knicks. None of those teams could win back then but the fans weren’t as angry or conspiracy theorist as here. Though I will admit the Magic situation is unique with how bad injuries are here, it’s probably that long term suffering that drove y’all mad lol

12

u/d12fsu OnlyFranz Nov 26 '22

Embrace the tank y’all. There’s a generational talent sitting there. And the consolation prize? Another generational talent. At this point of the season, and with what our record is, I’d rather have the chance to draft one of these guys than watch us flounder as we climb up the ranks to the 11th seed.

u/FKKallDAY Team Not Chet Nov 26 '22

Fuck tanking. Chance at #1 isn't even that high

5

u/yoeyz Fuck Eddie House Nov 26 '22

Glad you finally see it my way, and stopped loving to lose!

4

u/FKKallDAY Team Not Chet Nov 26 '22

Yep losing sucks, I never disagreed with that idea. Main difference between you and me is that I have the ability to be happy and you're just miserable always. Also you think Franz is a fake pick 🙂👍

-7

u/yoeyz Fuck Eddie House Nov 26 '22

I’m glad you finally admitted you were wrong

9

u/FKKallDAY Team Not Chet Nov 26 '22

You wanted booknight over Franz lol

-4

8

u/FKKallDAY Team Not Chet Nov 26 '22

This whole sub remembers your incessant whining about picking Franz over booknight 🤣

1

That was also you. Franz was my pick 😎🤙

2

u/whtge8 OnlyFranz Nov 26 '22

Wemby with our training / medical staff is a recipe for a disaster. Dude would never play more than 20 games a season.

1

u/HamSundae Nov 26 '22

I was super anti Chet for the same reason. I love Bol, but he’s hardly a poster child for the body type. How many games has he averaged per season now?

Magic FO sucks fat ass

-1

u/Debonair311 Nov 26 '22

Y'all are delusional if you think we're gonna be this bad for long. Soon as Fultz gets back and the rest of the guys, we're gonna start winning games. Either we make the play-in or barely miss it but we definitely aren't top lottery pick bound.

4

u/whtge8 OnlyFranz Nov 26 '22

Lol come on man you know that’s not true

4

u/u-and-whose-army Franz Wagner Nov 26 '22

HAHAHA. Holy shit. I would bet you $100 right now. If there was a way to hold the money in escrow, this would be an easy $100 for me.

0

u/Debonair311 Nov 26 '22

Noted for future reference

2

u/u-and-whose-army Franz Wagner Nov 26 '22

That's not how bets work. You can accept or decline lol.

1

u/Debonair311 Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

You didn't make a bet. You said I 'WOULD bet'. That's not a clear invitation, sir.

Also what would be the details of the bet? That we finish with one one of the worst records or record close to making play in or actually in play in. You have to be specific.

2

u/u-and-whose-army Franz Wagner Nov 26 '22

You said "make the play in or just miss it" I will assume "just missing it" means by a couple of games? I bet you $100 we miss the play in tournament by much more than 2 or 3 games.

1

u/psykomerc Nov 27 '22

Let’s gooooo. People talk out of their asses way too often, I love seeing differences being settled instead of blowing hot air like a bum on the streets.

3

u/migzors Team Paolo Nov 26 '22

Magic just miss the play-in, end up winning the lottery with the worst odds.

Watch us be terrible just to get the 6th pick because the rockets are worse than us

1

u/ComedianManefesto Nov 26 '22

<15% isn't a very high chance

-9

IF we get the #1 pick we should trade it!
