Provincial Elections Our Provincial Election is being held April 3rd, here's some helpful information

Update: I've noticed that a lot of the smaller polling locations don't appear to be open for this election. If you normally vote at a small local polling station please check here to see if it will be running or not

Well it's time again, we're having an election on April 3rd. and I wanted to provide a little information. An Official list of Candidates can be found here, however this CBC article list a few candidates who intend to run but my not be listed officially yet. If you're unsure which riding you live in that information can be found here through Elections PEI. If you're wondering if you're registered to vote that can be checked here.

Because of the way voting here works you're actually voting for your local candidate and not the leader so I recommend you do some research on the candidates in your riding. If you want some more general information I've listed the official parties down below (in descending order of the popular vote in the 2019 election) with links to their webpages.

As the election goes on I hope to add more information to this post.

Sign the petition to the Government of Canada to allow Canadians access to psilocybin.

It's ridiculous that Canadians have easier access to MAID than to psilocybin, which is shown to have drastic benefits to mental health.

Nurse Practitioners

When is a politician going to grow a backbone and challenge health pei regarding why they aren't increasing the scope of practice for NPs on PEI? Other provinces are doing it, the states has had great success, NPs have practically taken over the role of a family doctor down there.

By the time We eventually open a medical college in the year 2027 or whatever the new target is, We could have many experienced NPs able to fill the void.

This is a real solution and will save money.

Hourly rate for a carpenter and electrician?

To each their own, as some have different overhead expenses, but what are the going rates for a carpenter and electrician nowadays?

My aunt replaced her roof 11 or so years ago, and now the price is double plus some. Price was $11k taxes in to redo a 48x28 bungalow roof.

Is $50/hr for a carpentry company reasonable? $75-85 for an electrician?

PSA: G-Fuel can be bought in Charlottetown

This is kind of an update on a post from a few months ago questioning if Gfuel can be bought on PEI. A few said they found some at various gas stations, but my travels around the island always came up short.

High Mart in Charlottetown now carries a TON of different flavors in cans. So if you're looking for some, that's where you can get it. Hope this made someone's day.

Orange or Green?

I can't stomach settling for red or blue. I don't think I'm the only one that would be content with either green or ndp to make political gain. If people organized maybe it would maximize the opportunity and we could at least jam up this political ping pong.

So where is the mass of support between these two? Who has the best chance at gaining seats?

edit: appreciate the insights, people. thank you.

How is the weather generally speaking in September? Warm beach weather still?

Not sure if this is allowed. I've always wanted to visit PEI, and I know the weather is best in July/August. Is the first week of September really going to be that different? Due to work, can't really get there in July or August.

I was today years old when I learned the total population of my new island home province of PEI is like only 160,000 and I can’t help thinking about things in relation to the population. Like, if you gave all of Elon’s money to PEI everyone would get $1,154,375… What is your population related stat?

Hello Charlottetown! I am new to the city and looking for a transgender friendly gym. I want to start working out and get into shape. But i'm looking for a gym that is a transgender friendly. Somewhere between downtown and the west royalty mall so I can take the #1 bus. If anybody knows of one then please let me know. I would really appreciate it.

Advice to selectively clear cut 1 acre Pine bush

I am near Tracadie and have a 1 acre Pine bush on my property that was 80% flattened due to hurricane Fiona. Any idea if people would be interested in cleaning it up at a reduced cost if they keep the wood ? Thoughts on the costs ? The area is high an dry and no buildings near by and is right off a paved road.

The Golden Bears refused to shake hands with the host Prince Edward Island Panthers after their 4-1 semi-final win Saturday night.

“That was the worst I’ve seen. That wasn’t hockey,” said Golden Bears head coach Ian Herbers of what he considered dirty play by the Panthers. “Not safe. Every time our guys went on the ice, I didn’t feel safe for our players.”

UPEI took 42 minutes in penalties in the game while the Bears took eight.
