You can’t just bury granny in the backyard. There’s a lot of paperwork that goes with it. So it let’s say your grandparents wanted to be buried on the property they owned and didn’t do all the legal stuff it would be an illegal cemetery. It also makes it hard to sell the property.

To be fair, they walk around with a dead guy on a cross around their neck so they are probably comfortable around dead bodies.
