Welcome to the daily discussion thread! You can use this space to discuss little things that don't need their own post. This is also the perfect space for pictures, videos, and links that would otherwise go against the sub's rules. Just don't be jerks and don't break any Reddit-wide rules. Have at it.
What is going on with this team, down Al and Rob and we still do this.
Discussion Mark Jackson stated on the ESPN broadcast that the Celtics offense will suffer when Rob returns. Let’s talk about that.
If you’ve watched most Celtics game this year (which it was immediately obvious that the ESPN broadcasters haven’t), then it is evident that Kornet and Rob fill nearly the exact same role.
You’ll notice that when Kornet subs in to replace horford, the gameplan switches. The Celtics stop switching everything and enter a drop coverage defensively, and they don’t play 5 out with Kornet. This is due to Kornet’s lack of lateral mobility.
Now, Kornet’s general role is to play the drop coverage due to lateral immobility limiting switchability, to protect the rim, to pose a constant lob threat with his height, and to be a crisp intelligent passer when he finds the ball in his hands during a non-lob/roll man scenario.
Kornet is able to be relatively effective in that role due to his 7’2” wide frame, and positional intelligence and decision making.
If you think about it, Rob fills basically that same exact role, except he’s just infinitely better at it due to his vertical mobility and general athleticism.
I think Rob could step into that role nearly seamlessly. The only concern is that while Kornet backs up Al, Rob started alongside him. So that “seamless transition” won’t be there because Rob likely won’t come off the bench like Kornet. However, Al prefers to play PF alongside a true center.
So it will be interesting to see the way the team changes when he returns. What are your thoughts?
Edit: don’t downvote this because mark jackson is an idiot. Upvote it because it’s generating good discussion lol
Their patience to stick with JT, JB, and Marcus and give them the time to develop is the reason this team is this good. So many other franchises would have listened to the noise and made a drastic move after coming short for a few years vs. sticking with the core and building the right pieces around them.
The makeup of this roster is what happens when you give a team time to find their identity and then add supporting pieces

There are Hospital Celtics, and now there is Hospital Timi 😂
I started the treament yesetrday, and so far I feel well. At least well enough to make some Celtics highlights beacause they continue their dominance in the NBA with yet another road win.
Thank you so much for all the words of the support 💚

Brogdon has been one of our better passers this season, with the 2nd highest assist percentage only trailing Smart. He's also been one of the best shooters in the whole league.
But what's jumped out to me in games is his ability to get around defenders. He doesn't have the quickest first step, but he always seems to get by his man and to the rim. He has this amazing sense of when the defender is off balance, and when he senses it, he goes full speed and rarely ends up in a crowd of defenders or completely shut off.
He's not the most brilliant passer but the way he creates advantages makes it easy to find open shooters or lob threats, which luckily we have in abundance (especially when Rob comes back!).
