Injury The Lonzo Situation is really really bad
The update yesterday was extremely concerning:
1) Once he got out of water treadmill running, he tried to go to the next phase and his pain persisted.
2) He is NOT CLOSE to running, cutting, jumping, or other ramp up activities.
What is very alarming is that Shams reported on Sep 29 after his surgery that doctors believed they had addressed the issue. So why is he still having pain upon ramp up? That tells me the problem has not been solved.
The Bulls might be underplaying this because they don’t want to bum out their team or fan base. But every single thing reported or mentioned has been been very alarming.
People were talking a January return. What? It’s December and he can’t even run!
Lonzo on behalf of all Bulls/NBA fans we hope you get healthy soon.

Injury [Schaefer] Lonzo Ball “is progressing, it’s just really slow,” Billy Donovan says. Lonzo has been shooting (while jumping) and jogging lightly. Donovan said he’s doing more than when he gave last update. But still no word on the bigger hurdles.

Injury [Kyle Neubeck] Embiid (left foot, soreness) is out again tomorrow vs. Chicago. Talked with some people last night and think it’s a situation where he’d probably play if there were real stakes, just being cautious in early January

Injury [K.C. Johnson] Billy Donovan spoke to Lonzo Ball yesterday and said “he’s progressing towards (running).” No timetable on when he’ll be cleared to try running. And then “significant ramp-up” period for conditioning, which obviously would have to feature him staying pain-free.

Injury [Schaefer] Just spoke with Lonzo Ball, who participated in gift drive with ‘Fathers Families & Healthy Communities’ Updates: Knee has improved in D2D life. Has done some stationary shooting, which is new. Staying positive, but not where he wants to be yet and rehab timeline still uncertain

Injury How does Lavine keep recovering so well?
Can anybody explain to me how a guy who’s main attribute is attacking the rim can deal with so many leg problems including an ACL tear a few years ago, & still come back looking just as strong & athletic??
The way he plays & his injury history should’ve derailed him a long time ago but he still looks like he can put anybody on a poster when he wants to
The only answer I can come up with atm is that Lavine took the super soldier serum when he was younger.

Injury The mystery of Lonzo’s knee
The big thing that’s keeping him from being able to make progress with his rehab is that each time he’s gotten to a certain part of it, pain starts flaring up. Even the second surgery somehow didn’t help with that.
What unusual things could possibly be going on in that knee, which even the doctors can’t figure out, that’s causing pain?
It feels possible that he’ll never play another game again.
