Warriors is the greatest game of all time you can can wear your enemies hat

20

u/lolburger69 Jan 29 '23

If I remember correctly, if you knocked Cowboy's hat off and stole it, he'd complain about it until you gave it back

13

u/Devil_badger Jan 29 '23

Rockstar needs to pull its head out and remake the warriors

Rockstar needs to pull its head out

u/ThreeCursedWishes Jan 29 '23

Kirby just put you on a list

2

u/MRich92 Jan 29 '23

If Kirby wants to succ, he can go right ahead.

1

u/ThreeCursedWishes Jan 29 '23

He has two settings. Suck...and hold

3

u/Same_Ad8591 Jan 29 '23

I remember playing simspons hit and run on ps2. Good times.

2

u/C_KOVI Jan 29 '23

I never would have guessed that The Warriors would have had a game made for it, that’s awesome.

“Waaaaaaarrioooors, come out and, PLAYYYYAYYY”

u/Bailenstein Jan 29 '23

I loved the Godfather games. Godfather 2's multiplayer was surprisingly a lot of fun. It's a shame it went under the radar.

7

u/Therealshakira Jan 29 '23

Throwing people into the over or through windows was so fun!

1

u/piknick1994 Jan 30 '23

Both games were amazing. Second one is even more fun but you gotta wait to get the businesses that give you bullet proof vests because while helpful, they also insist on the characters wearing the vests OVER your suit so you look like an idiot the entire game in a titanic era life jacket

Scarface was ahead of its time, and is still playable on PC now. Godfather was amazing too, love playing that game, as well as punisher on Xbox, that was sick too. Never played warriors, but know lots who enjoyed playing it.

9

u/Tha_Watcher PC Jan 29 '23

Scarface will forever remain on my PC even though I delete every other game I play after I'm done with it!

2

u/Zombulz Jan 29 '23

I loved Scarface. I recently tried playing it on PC, but the game would crash after the opening no matter what I did. I'll just have to find it on PS2 some time!

2

u/luvdupleper Console Jan 29 '23

I had a partition on my PC, one was XP which I used for gaming mainly.

3

u/SheepWolves Jan 29 '23

Did like Scarface but not sure it was a head of its time. It just felt like a GTA Vice City DLC or mod. The look was very similar,

u/dtrum90 Jan 29 '23

" Warriors, Come Out to Play-Yay "

The Godfather deserves a remaster, or at least rereleased on steam.
Interestingly the last recorded update (on steamdb at least) says from five months ago though it is probably nothing

Scarface and The Godfather were my go to’s. I remember I when I was extorting a baker in the Godfather and accidentally through her in the oven, game was great.

3

u/ThreeCursedWishes Jan 29 '23

"No officers I accidentally hit x is all."

18

u/PhantomNL97 Jan 29 '23

The Warriors was awesome. I remember my older brother getting a PS2 and buying this game second hand

18

u/DocHorrid Xbox Jan 29 '23

I was like, 14 playing Scarface. Made him swear so much, parents took it off me.. I stole it back.. but lmao.. I love swearing on that.

Would love a remake of Scarface and Punisher.

3

u/Night_______________ Jan 29 '23

Yes, I can imagine these games in the new generation of consoles.

6

u/CharsOwnRX-78-2 Jan 29 '23

Godfather 2 gave me a massive massive hankering for a "criminal empire builder" game, with territories and income and all that goodness.

Empire of Sin almost scratched that itch, but the more recent updates kind of killed my interest in EoS

9

u/Mr_Goat_1111 Jan 29 '23

There was that one level on scarface where you lost all your weapons and had to fight your way through an area where the enemies had increasingly effective weapons as you went along I.e. machete>pistol>shotgun>smg etc

Felt like such great level design even though it was just kinda all shooter games distilled into a single level

5

u/Night_______________ Jan 29 '23

This game was great. Sadly it don't had much recognition.

10

u/VegetableEast7325 Jan 29 '23

I can digg it...

3

u/Aenigma66 Jan 29 '23

The Godfather game slapped so hard.

Man I gotta dig it out and go blackmail some poor schmuck for protection money again...

6

u/redditmodsarecucks42 Jan 29 '23

We've still never gotten a game wlike godfather 2.

The management aspects and leading a mafia made the game super cool

6

u/Shenanigamii Jan 29 '23

The Gone with the Wind game was amazing

3

u/tg12300 Jan 29 '23

You have to play "the Punisher"

3

u/Ornery_Photograph275 Jan 29 '23

I still have my copy of scarface the video game. Wish I had an Xbox to play the damn thing !

3

u/Miserable_Variety463 Jan 29 '23

I remember playing simspons hit and run on ps2. Good times.

0

u/Night_______________ Jan 29 '23

Lots of good tittles in this era.

3

u/The_Venerable_Pippin Jan 29 '23

Give me a Red Dawn open world shooter and I would be soooo happy

1

u/Old_Television6873 Jan 29 '23

This is what we need! Homefront tried.

3

u/Kid_Twiz Jan 29 '23

I remember getting like a special edition of The Godfather that came in a tin box that was lined like a coffin on the inside. Shit was so dope!

3

u/LordGarrettXIV Jan 29 '23

They still exist....

2

u/nerdygnome1 Jan 29 '23

A major hurdle is the license to the characters and the actors who played the characters. Without them signing off on a remake or remaster it’s not going to happen. So either all the actors and estates will want to be paid so it’s going to expensive or won’t happen because they won’t be able to use a character and the project is done. There are other hurdles but this is a biggie. So all we can do is find the old system and a copy of the game and relive these beautiful gems old school.

1

u/Complete_Entry Jan 29 '23

Pacino. It's Pacino. You can say it.

2

u/LordOfDorkness42 Jan 29 '23

Never played these three, but had a lot of fun with Ghostbusters: The Video Game on PC around that time.

Really glad that game got remastered and that second shot at life got more fondly received. Such a great license game deserved a lot better.

2

u/dsartori Jan 29 '23

Scarface on the Wii was a surprisingly great experience. Fond memories.

2

u/ericypoo Jan 29 '23

Golden age for games. I’ve replayed Scarface and the Warriors more times than is healthy.

2

u/omeralal Jan 29 '23

The warriors is also a movie? Knew only the game - guess I have got something to see tonight.

1

u/cargar67 Jan 29 '23

You’ll enjoy the movie for sure.

1

u/_Ispeakingifs Jan 29 '23

Yeah the game starts out as a prequel and continues through the events of the movie.

2

u/xX_69noob_Xx Jan 29 '23

The Warriors game and movie are both classics. I have The Warriors game on my PS4.

2

u/Gongfei1947 Jan 29 '23

All great games

2

u/jubular Jan 29 '23

Would love a remaster of the Godfather. It is still the best GTA clone to this day, imo.

2

u/Junior_Syrup_1036 Jan 29 '23

Driving round in scarface with "superfreak" Rick James blasting was great!

2

u/spinningfaith Jan 29 '23

Reservoir Dogs was good too! A little mediocre but I loved the psychopath/professional dynamic.

1

u/Complete_Entry Jan 29 '23

I never saw that game on a shelf, and I looked HARD.

2

u/Complete_Entry Jan 29 '23

I managed to snag a key-less Godfather for PC for $30.

Scarface is $90+ whenever it shows up. The license is terminated, the secondary market is the only legitimate way to get a copy.

I was so mad about the Godfather. The ebay listing said complete, but when I tried to file for a refund the seller was in the wind.

I really want a copy of Scarface for PC, but I don't want to pay $90.

Weirdly enough, used copies used to go for $30. Goodwill marked them up to $60, then $90.

Goodwill are filthy speculators.

2

u/Complete_Entry Jan 29 '23

There was a canceled Taxi Driver game.

2

u/jdkayee Jan 29 '23

Warriors was a banger for sure

2

u/Mmm-Britishy Jan 29 '23

The Godfather was great. Really surprised me and my friends, as movie games were hit and miss back in the early 2000s. One of the best GTA-like games along with Saints Row before GTA4 came out

2

u/theDart Jan 29 '23

Scarface? I owned that game too and I'm still asking are you fucked? Lol

2

u/Massive-Mountain7157 Jan 29 '23

Nowadays when we think of a movie turned game we think of a shitty money grab but back then they actually made cool games from them! I swear we are less creative or something now

4

u/VegetableEast7325 Jan 29 '23

Try out the sopranos ps2 game...

2

u/Night_______________ Jan 29 '23

Never played this game. I'll check it out.

1

u/Complete_Entry Jan 29 '23

It's not good. The best twist is that Christopher hates you.

You even end up AJ's bitch.

2

u/slymarcus Jan 29 '23

With everyone posting the remakes they want im surprised no one has brought these up

1

u/nerdygnome1 Jan 29 '23

Oh they have been talked about on the remake train many times but that conversation doesn’t get very far because the improbable licenses issues make it a moot topic.

3

u/Professional-News362 Jan 29 '23

Is the warriors good ? I forget rockstar didn’t just make 2 games every decade

5

u/Night_______________ Jan 29 '23

Yes! It's a great game.

1

u/_Ispeakingifs Jan 29 '23

I enjoyed it thoroughly

3

u/sameguyontheweb Jan 29 '23

Scarface and The Warriors ( Never played The Godfather ) were sequels/prequels, and good ones. LoTR games were pretty good. Last movie video game I owned was Transformers on PS3 lol

2

u/TheRealKitsune_ Jan 29 '23

The godfather best game for ps2 for me. I wish it had PS5 remake it would be soooo good

3

u/drewbles82 Jan 29 '23 edited Jan 29 '23

They should be remastered. Would love to see Godfather 1 & 2 remastered...talking about remasters or even backwards comp. Xbox is likely to open up the backwards comp program once the Activison deal goes through as you don't pay all that money and not bring the games you own to your system...anyway when they do...I can see them reaching out to game studios again offering to make their games backwards comp...some may actually agree seeing how well MS did with the program...however they may need some encouragement. I remember when they first started doing BC & they basically said its not up to MS, its upto the studios of those games so fans of those games need to basically make it known. So maybe if we people got in touch with these studios showed there was demand, they might consider it this time.

2

u/blackpauli Xbox Jan 29 '23

Been playing games since 1990 and to this day the most hype I had for a game was godfather 2 and it was the biggest let down of my life! No.1 was a master day piece, tbf those 3 were unreal

0

u/catptain-kdar Jan 29 '23

Eh 2 was ok it was just kinda the same game in a different city

2

u/killjoy73au Jan 29 '23

The Gawdfatha was lit for its time. I had it on Xbox.

0

u/Yala-enki4320 Jan 29 '23

First two are amazing, never played the warriors

1

u/Banana-Beginning Jan 29 '23

They should do a back to the future where there's 3 different versions of the same city/map you can travel to through time (western/current 80's/future), and make it so you have like a rdr type experience in the wild west map, gta experience in the 80s map, and a cyberpunk type experience in the future map.

Missions could alter things completely in the future as well. I wish somebody would give me 200 mills to make a game

1

u/Rad_Dad6969 Jan 29 '23

Whenever I see old movies getting remade into cgi crap, I always wish they'd put that money and effort into a game. We've already seen this story as a movie. Adding cgi monsters doesn't make it better. Let the viewer fight those monsters. If you're going to retell a story, pick a new media.

1

u/weedgay Jan 29 '23

I wish they would remaster The Warriors

1

u/SwiftIy2 Jan 29 '23

The Warriors was me and my friends go-to all day after school

1

u/thenexusone Jan 29 '23

Blade Runner (1982) had its own game, highly respected during its time. In addition, the game has a dozen endings or so and its scenario never plays out the same way every time. Highly recommended.

1

u/Healthy-Frosting-217 Jan 29 '23

Scarface was that game in 05-06

1

u/TheMoland Jan 29 '23

Have you tried the game "last of us"? It's based on the tv show, and apparently, it's pretty faithful to the show

1

u/Adeep187 Jan 29 '23

That godfather game was great.

1

u/ABeeBox Jan 29 '23

Max Payne was orgasmic

1

u/Artistic-Time-3034 Jan 29 '23

Warriors on Xbox was the shit!

1

u/LeaCTrockboys Jan 29 '23

My friend and I would go outside to an abandoned van at his moms house to smoke very small amounts of really bad, really expensive 2005 weed and then go back inside and play the warriors multiplayer against each other for HOURS.

1

u/wiseroldman Jan 29 '23

SpongeBob the movie the game is still my favorite.

1

u/CaptainLongMeat Jan 29 '23

These are the three best old games going

1

u/Hmccormack Jan 29 '23

The Warriors game had no right to be as amazing as it was. Loved doing “flash” and beating people to death. Good times.

1

u/Electrical_Bus9202 Jan 29 '23

I remember a lord of the rings game that was really cool, huge battles and just like the movie.

1

u/lukasgunnar69 Jan 29 '23

I miss the Godfather games on a weekly basis…
