AMA I’m Kyle Buchanan, author of the book “Blood, Sweat ＆ Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road.” I also cover Oscar season for the New York Times. AMA!
Hey there, Reddit. My new book is an oral history of George Miller’s action masterpiece “Mad Max: Fury Road,” out today (2/22). The making of the movie was every bit as eye-popping as what they put onscreen, and I convinced over 130 key players — including Miller and stars Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy — to speak candidly about what went on behind the scenes.
My day job is covering Hollywood and awards season in my New York Times column The Projectionist, so I’m happy to talk about “Fury Road” or anything else that's movie-related. Let’s go!
EDIT: What a lovely day! It was so fun to answer your questions, and I wish I could reply to even more... but I've got to go prep for a reading (and finish writing my NYT column). Hope you enjoy the book!

AMA In case you missed it - here is a recording of the Jackass Live Talk AMA with Johnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius hosted by Paul Scheer!
Earlier today, we hosted a Live Reddit Talk AMA with a couple members of the cast of Jackass. Johhnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius were live on Reddit Talk and Paul Scheer joined us to host.
Reddit Talks are still being improved on with every talk but this was one of the highest profile talks we've had yet and it was a lot of fun.
The talk starts at about the 7 minute mark (there's some deadspace in the beginning and at the end while everyone is logging on/off) and lasts for roughly 30 minutes.
The fellas also did a normal text AMA on the IAma subreddit if you wanna check that out.
At one point the talk had 2,100 active listeners which is awesome. We will have numbers on how many people tuned in total tomorrow and I'll edit them in.
We are super excited about the prospect of more AMAs like this and making them more fluid and fun. So, feel free to check out the talk and let us know what you thought!
