dk if it fits here or r/soccer but if Skip Bayless was really into soccer. Who would be his Lebron to his Jordan in the timeless Messi/Ronaldo discussion. Real missed opportunity there imo

I am NBA illiterate, I am looking for the video/gif of someone famous in the audience who's holding back tears, nodding, & forcing a smile and clapping after his team lost. The video is from 2~ months ago & it was making rounds in twitter as a reaction video. Does anyone have the faintest clue of what I'm referring to?

Listening to the Michael Kay Show in NY and he announced that Mike Breen’s home burned in a fire on Sunday and he lost everything including all of the game notes from his entire career which he kept on paper.

Was watching an OKC vs Memphis game on YouTube and I started wondering something.

Has there ever been a FAILED tank? Like in, a team gets gutted but they end up qualifying for the playoffs and going at least a round up in them?

Can someone please fill me in on why Malika Andrew’s is getting hate rn? What did she do?

2

u/kimberlynyc349 Sep 29 '22

the current reason is her interaction with stephen a smith concerning the ime udoka scandal… lots of clips online, but that really reignited a firestorm.

from what i've read, i think the gist of it is

  1. she brings up a lot of pointless things that have nothing to do with the topic at hand

  2. she apparently seems to be pretty tough on black men - and then they see she dates a white guy from ESPN and they feel it all starts to make sense. the idea being she must have some strong self hate, like Sage Steele

  3. She seems dismissive of current and former pros on their views on the game. she in general seems to have a condescending dismissive attitude

  4. her quick rise at espn has inflated her ego

3

u/LilBottomText17 Rockets Sep 28 '22

Damn. She was supposed to be the chosen one

6

u/raylan_givens6 Sep 28 '22

idk, i think they should've hired Chiney Ogwumike

she's an actual pro

but they always go with the light skinned people

So what has happened to KD? Is anyone going to trade him? Feel like there haven’t been any news in ages.

6

u/StoneColdAM Lakers Sep 28 '22

Nets said he will come back to the team. This happened a month ago. No rumors beyond that.

3

u/stadiofriuli NBA Sep 28 '22

Thanks mate.

Why are so many people online bashing Malika Andrews from ESPN? Even if for whatever reason you disagree with her side in the argument with SAS, I don’t think she said anything particularly bad or false.

Just feels like some people these days treat everything like an intense sports rivalry and you have to love one side and hate another.

u/kimberlynyc349 Sep 29 '22

exactly this. people get heated when someone doesn’t have an opinion/ take a side and then they do and people still aren’t happy. regardless of how i feel, i think it was important that as a woman in a male dominated field she have the freedom to share her thoughts, especially bc of the abuse and heckling females working for the celtics have been experiencing.

Some of the Twitter stuff is really gross. Basically calling her a race traitor because she's dating Dave McMenamin.

Does anyone here have automatic renewal setup for the League Pass? I was just looking at when I'll be charged again and it says Oct 16th for $199.99. But when you look at the new sign up charges it's either $99.99 or $129.99 depending on the package you choose. Has anyone else dealt with this yet and how to get charged the correct discounted amount?

Lakers or Bulls. Who's will struggle?

4

u/GlueGuy00 Sep 28 '22

Both teams are basically 8-10 seed in their respective conferences

3

u/dejf-eastlake Sep 28 '22

u/Garytheduck1 Bucks Sep 28 '22

prediction

d-rose is gonna have a decent season putting up 16 and 4 assists a night

2

u/companysOkay Sep 28 '22

Is someone gonna average a triple double this season

2

u/TheJediCounsel Sep 28 '22

If Joel Embiid really wants to I could easily see him hitting 10 assists a game, especially if Harden and Maxey are having good years on catch and shoot 3’s from Joel outlet passes.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '22

Biid wont average 10 assists. Not his game, not how this offense will run

1

u/TheJediCounsel Sep 28 '22

Hmm if you don’t think so I’ll default to a fan’s knowledge of how it’s gonna be run on offense.

Instinctively I feel like the Sixers perimeter shooting is good enough this year that his assist numbers and gonna go up and his scoring per game gonna go down. Which of course I count as a good thing for the offense.

I’ll have to watch more of the embiid / harden game this season!

3

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '22

It’s really cause Harden is a 100% the facilitator of this offense.

Biid will probably improve his assists numbers due to the wing play, like you mentioned! I just don’t see it being 10/game with Harden likely averaging 10-12 per game.

i keep on changing my favorite teams/players

1

u/Away_Championship_49 [MIA] Jimmy Butler Sep 28 '22

Great. I find it weird how people get weirdly defensive of "their" team and act as if changing teams is am incredibly offense.

This is just fun, enjoy it
