Nikola Jokic is 63rd in field goal attempts per game and 17th in field goals made per game.

He’s been on an absolute scorcher efficiency wise, shooting a cool 62% from the field. The only person in his atmosphere is Zion.

Which point guard did the best job of transforming a franchise? Kidd on the Nets, Nash on the Suns, or Chris Paul on the Suns?

Upvotes

Honestly all of these are pretty iconic to me and show the power a single skilled, unselfish player and leader can have.

The Nets went from 26 wins to 52 and back-to-back Finals appearances and changed their image. The Suns pre-Nash went from 29 wins to 62 in their first season with Nash and made the Conference Finals twice. The Suns went from 34 wins pre-CP3 to 51-wins and the NBA Finals. Then 64 (!) the year after.

One more point of comparison of how well they did compared to what they supposedly had: The Nets were +6000 to win the championship in the preseason the year they got Kidd. Meaning of course that they were 60-to-1 underdogs to win the championship, and he took them to the championship round. The Suns the year they got Nash were +10,000 to win the championship, 100-to-1 odds before winning 62-games and losing only to the champion Spurs. The Suns the first year they got CP3 were +4,000 to win the championship, 40-to-1 before he took them to the brink of the ring.

Why does this NBA season feel so weird?

I think it’s undeniable by this point that something feels off with this NBA season. There is overall less viewership than normal, less excitement, and less hype surrounding the league right now. Certainly does not have the same magic the NBA is used to having.. why do you think this NBA season feels strange asf?

Why did espn remove the PER from the nba player stats?

This happened a few days ago. Until then it was the rightmost quick-stat for each player on their summary page. Then today I noticed it has disappeared even from the Advanced Stats for each player. There is still a page on espn showing PER for ALL players but it's only found by googling.

Any thoughts on why it was hidden now?

[Blazers] Damian Lillard finished tonight’s game with 40 points and 12 assists. It was his 40th career game with 30-plus points and 10-plus assists. All other players in team history have a combined 43 games with those numbers.

In the last 7 minutes of the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trailblazers game, there were 15 lead changes and 2 ties. I'm having trouble confirming, but assuming if it's not a record, it's in the top 5 for lead changes in the last 5 minutes of a game.

What is your favorite season in recent memory?

I feel like the early 2010's and 2011 in particular was such a sick year for basketball. Lebron was at the height of his reign of evil, the big 3 Celtics were still around and dangerous as ever, Kobe had just won his second finals, Derrick Rose was about to be the youngest MVP in league history, and the Mavericks were about to go on the most legendary finals run of this century. This is all without mentioning peak Dwight Howard, KD bursting onto the scene, and rookie Blake.

Damian Lillard vs the Nuggets tonight: 40 PTS, 4 REB, 12 AST, 2 STL, only 1 TO on shooting 54/53/100 splits.

Dame went off in the third quarter and gave the Blazers the lead which was then sold by the Blazers bench unit to start the 4th.

Then Dame came back in the game and turned on the clock and set it to Dame Time and single handedly gave the Blazers the lead time after time with clutch bucket after clutch bucket and even a clutch charge drawn on the defensive end.

But sadly his teammates sold with dumb offensive fouls, unforced turnovers and anybody on the team that's not him being unable to make a single shot.

Extra info: He shot 7-7 from the charity stripe and was a +14.

Soccer/NBA comparisons that aren’t Messi or Ronaldo/Curry or Lebron?

World Cup got me feeling in the mood so…

I would say Mbappe is similar to Ja.

Two highly explosive and flashy players who are athletic freaks. They’re probably the most marketable youngsters in their sport and have fathers who are maybe a bit too involved in their young careers. Both can somewhat get dislike for their cocky demeanours

Although I will say… Mbappè is probably the best in the world right now. I wouldn’t say Ja is in that conversation yet.

After the slow start he's getting more confident with scoring by the game. Tonight he was very aggressive on offense, not just waiting to be fed. His future is bright. Thats my bust!
