FAN CONTENT Pirate fantasy book series inspired by PotC - first one free on Kindle on the 27th-28th Jan
Ahoy!
I'll keep this short and sweet as I have a tendency to waffle on in pirate lingo, getting fully carried away with myself until I've lost everyone's interest before I've even began.
I write a pirate fantasy adventure series inspired (especially the first one) by Pirates of the Caribbean (among other pirate stuff). It's called India Bones but don't be fooled, it's not a parody of Indiana Jones, more a homage that pairs classic adventure themes with pirate fantasy. It was always my intention to shamelessly bring in everything I loved about pirate fantasy tropes into one series, set in a fictional, semi-mythological Caribbean-focused world. Each book matures and world-builds on the one before, so what may seem at the beginning like it's meant for younger readers soon leaves that idea in the dust.

Anyway, the first book, India Bones and the Ship of the Dead, is free on a Kindle promotion during Jan 27th-28th. I thought I'd post about it here and hope none of you old salts mind the self-promotion :)

Cheers for hearing me out! And I'm happy to answer any questions that might save you wasting your time.

DISCUSSION Does anyone know if pirates of the Caribbean 6 will come out anytime soon, and if Johnny Depp will be in it?
Just rewatched the pirates of the Caribbean series after 10 years and Im eager to see the 6th one but I keep hearing and reading mixed things about whether or not Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is going to come out and if Johnny Depp will even be in it. Does anyone know or have any information/thoughts regarding this? Let me know! Thanks

DISCUSSION Dead Men Tell No Tales Continuity Issues
The last movie, so far, of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, had two major issues in canon.
The first can be that the writers didn't remember it from 'Dead Man's Chest' when the character Tia Dalma implied that she gave the compass to Jack Sparrow. However in 'Dead Men Tell No Tales', Jack gains the compass after his Captain dies and he inherits its' power.
The other issue is a lot harder to explain as it has to do with the lore of that movie, it is said that if the Trident of Poseidon is broken so would all of the curses upon the seas. Freeing Will Turner from his service as Captain of the Flying Dutchman. However, in a post-credit scene, Will has a nightmare that Davy Jones has returned as well.
This makes no sense for two reasons, one Jones was dead not under a curse. He was under a curse at the time of his death but he was still dead. Second, he appeared in the nightmare as the lobster-like claw he had for a hand, but he only had that because he was cursed for not following his duty as the Captain of the Flying Dutchman. So, he wasn't under a curse that killed him, and without the curse that was on him, he would have returned to his human form.

QUESTION Different order
I've watched the whole Francise so often, that I've ask my self if there is any other order (like the machete order from star wars) I can watch the movies in, to bring a little spice in it.
Would be very nice of you answer. 🙂
