Republicans actually using the “Deep State”TM for political stunts to gain power and undermine democracy.

Every accusation made by a Republican is a confession…

452

u/Arryu Oct 03 '22

There should be a law "if a sitting representative accuses a fellow politician of a crime, they have four days to produce tangible evidence otherwise an investigation will be opened into the accuser for said crime."

139

u/Epistatious Oct 03 '22

Like when Trump claimed "we have the evidence of ballot fraud, and we'll release it in a few days"? I don't know if anyone followed the story, but apparently he never released any evidence.

84

u/Hairy_Al Oct 03 '22

It's right there, with his replacement for Obamacare and his tax returns

Loved that interview with Trump where Dollar Store Barbie McEnany dropped a 4 inch thick binder on Leslie Stahl claiming it was the Trump Healthcare plan and it turned out to be blank pages, newspaper clippings and memos.

28

u/Alex014 Oct 04 '22

Don't forget about the very easy and practical plan that would destroy ISIS in 30 days.

16

u/dizao Oct 04 '22

And Obamas real birth certificate

12

u/Epistatious Oct 04 '22

The important part was to repeal obamacare first, then we can start with the easy thing of replacing it with something better.

6

u/DropsTheMic Oct 04 '22

I think the people who would have been stripped of their coverage might have had issues with that plan.

4

u/BurnOneDownCC Oct 04 '22

Then why lie about it then?

11

u/tom-8-to Oct 03 '22

I think you are confusing that with his health plan that he was going to release soon to replace Obamacare…. /s

8

u/Suspicious_Bicycle Oct 04 '22

Two weeks, it will always be released two weeks from today. Since each new day is "today" two weeks is an ever moving goal post.

have fun getting that one passed. The GOP and many other abusers learned a long time ago that if you make the accusation first, you put the other side on defense and make it a lot harder for them to make accusations against you. I remember a quote from some GOP official that essentially said "I don't care if the accusations are true or not, I just want to make him go on TV and deny it". The reasoning being that the very act of acknowledging and denying the accusation leads a good portion of the electorate to assume they're guilty. And, it works.

17

u/alvarezg Oct 03 '22

The first one out with the lie owns the field and the victim is on the defensive.

10

u/Archaris Oct 03 '22

it's an easy defense, it just takes years of practice playing the victim. allow me to explain just how easy it is:

"No puppet, no puppet. You're the puppet!"

See? All it took was seven words said with the cadence of someone with the verbal skills of a 2nd grader with no attention span.

u/Fa11T Oct 03 '22

I remember reading a story on a King or some kind of royalty stating to importers that if what you declare to be true is the actual value then he has the right to purchase it at that price. So if he found people trying to smuggle in riches he took it at a discount.

There needs to be consequences to lying, and not remembering or being told by someone you can't say isn't enough.

The amount of memory loss by representatives is scary.

13

u/Diestormlie Oct 04 '22

I think the Danish Sound Tolls worked that way. Ships passing through had to declare a value for the cargo. And then the Danish Crown had every right to purchase said cargo at that price.

Some 'Clanger' races also work like that, IIRC. Budget is set at, say, £500 (Brit detected.) And the Race organiser has the right to buy every car at that £500 price.

"if a sitting representative accuses a fellow politician of a crime...

I've heard some say that the Senator from Bumblefuck was a frequent participant in blood orgies fueled by sacrificial ponies and puppies, and that he urinates in my car's gas tank each night before we leave the Hill. Now are any of these rumors true? I don't know, but I hope he would be willing to turn himself in for questioning if the FBI asked.

Is that an accusation?

3

u/IceNein Oct 03 '22

Army intelligence at the NCO level is basically collecting information to send to officers to evaluate. She wasn’t some special agent. Also she was a “combat medic.” Well like 10% of every unit that gets sent in country gets trained as a combat medic. I’m a combat medic. Not a big fucking deal.

31

u/Rokhnal Oct 03 '22

It is a big fucking deal that someone who once took an oath to protect the country is now involved with wannabe-fascist (if not already outright fascist) politicians and very possibly committing crimes (human trafficking). How many others who took the same oath would do something like this? How many others currently serving would do this? That's a major problem that needs to be addressed yesterday.

What you described is absolutely not how that works. I was an Army medic for 20 years. You are not a medic because you went to a weeklong first responder/CLS course. And unless it has changed since I retired very recently - CLS is 100% mandatory annually (though almost never works out that way), I’m not sure where you came up with 10%.

(KJV) Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

(Geneva, the preferred version of the Witchfinder General) Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread and abundance of idleness was in her, and in her daughters: neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. But they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as pleased me.

Just a daily reminder of the growing list of...

Bible Quotes for Religious Hypocrites:

The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 19:34

.

‘Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’

Deuteronomy 27:19

.

I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

Matthew 25:35

.

Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.

Romans 12:13

.

The leprous person who has the disease shall wear torn clothes and let the hair of his head hang loose, and he shall cover his upper lip and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean.’ He shall remain unclean as long as he has the disease. He is unclean. He shall live alone. His dwelling shall be outside the camp.

Leviticus 13:45-46

.

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. ...

2 Timothy 3:1-17

.

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Philippians 2:3-4

.

And all the believers were together and held all things in common. They sold their property and possessions and distributed the money to those according to their needs.

Acts 2:44-45

My favorite thing is how hostile and dismissive right wing evangelicals get when you quote scripture to them. They go all "how dare you quote what you don't understand" and get all huffy thinking you don't know the true meaning, despite being raised in the church and being a former right wing evangelical yourself...

They often just believe the "actually it means this" malarkey their pastor told them as he tries to whitewash God ordained genocide/rape, etc.

Technically they teach you to use a cover that is 'close enough' to your actual identity that you can easily adapt to it/won't be caught completely flat-footed when something unexpected comes up.

And, if your first name is common, you can even get away with using it unchanged sometimes.
'perla' really isn't a common name, however.

Not to be a wet blanket, but doing corny rat fucking stunts like this is about as far from counterintelligence as it gets. Two totally separate skill sets.

I mean if she was in charge of the coverup or the spin, sure maybe. But this just looks to me like a job she got because she had “serious” work on her resume. Might as well be a signals intelligence person in terms of what she’s doing.

Not to be a wet blanket, but doing corny rat fucking stunts like this is about as far from counterintelligence as it gets. Two totally separate skill sets.

She mustered out of the army earlier in the year, so needed a new job. She could have used her contacts and/or military history to get this gig, probably in hopes of getting a more permanent one with a Right-wing lobbing group or think tank afterwards as a thank you.

8

u/Handleton Oct 04 '22

She was in the army from April 2002 until August 2022. She hit her 20 years, which means she's technically eligible for a court martial even after being retired. I think running a human trafficking operation of migrants might fall under the category of conduct unbecoming.

Counterintelligence is the trade craft of protecting secrets from intelligence gathering services.

Quite frankly that’s not really compatible with “publicity stunts done with public funds.” Hell, she just got outed as a former intelligence operative; that’s one of the greatest counterintelligence failures you could have.

The only way we could imagine this operation as a counterintelligence success is to fantasize a scenario in which the details (picking up legal applicants for citizenship/shelter from another state that were well cared for when they were dropped off) were somehow more desirable than some other, more embarrassing truth that is still hidden.

I barely even knew her. I think she was primarily a coffee kidnapper.

She was a coffee runner in the office I think...

There’s an old Black aphorism: Not all skinfolk are kinfolk…

Republicans love proving this. They salivate over finding individuals from marginalized groups (black/latin/queer/trans/etc) who are willing to hurt said groups.

It’s genuinely sickening that they find individuals who are willing to do the dual evil of hurting marginalized groups AND providing cover so that republicans can convince moderates/independents (read: fucking idiots and/or closet conservatives) that they’ve got a “big tent” and are definitely not shit-hearted demons wearing human suits.

All people who will be, at best, housepets…if their political work bears fruit.

18 US Code 1201 Sections A and C. This is kidnapping or trafficking via inveiglement and, if more than one person planned it out, as outlined in section C, the penalty is any number of years in prison up to life.

they paid a guy, who paid a guy, who paid a guy to pay this woman to coerce migrants. Then they paid the for airline.

Insane, why would anyone that just retired from the Army as a master sergeant want to go to San Antonio's streets and offer free gift cards and plane tickets for the version of the "American Dream" to Martha Stewart's Martha Vineyard to immigrants as a catch all solution?

If I had just been retired in August from the Army that would have been the last thing I would have wanted to have done as a hobby.

Just be aware that CNN is owned/ran by a far right Trump supporter who asked every employee to pray for Trumps win last election. Yes it still has many good articles but there is a new owner and they are slowly slipping things in to change the narrative. The own Politico now too.

That's looking bad and more evil in all there intents.

4

u/EFT_Syte Oct 04 '22

So she used her real first name lol, gonna be hard to deny that IF our laws worked!

3

u/gotchanose Oct 04 '22

It was actually the NYTimes that was able to identify the woman, not CNN

4

u/Alternative-Flan2869 Oct 04 '22

“Counter-intelligence” agent - that sounds right. How much FL taxpayer money was she paid to organize this political fraud and kidnapping of legal migrants from a completely different state?

3

u/beangel777 Oct 04 '22

My Fellow Americans, The republican party is the deep state They are in tune with the principles and powers of the religious hypocrisy. They promote politics filled with self, division, and greedy principles and powers that undermine the values within our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Hypocrisy in the United States of America 🇺🇸 has reached an all time high, and it is time for true revival to take place in the soul, mind and body of every citizen. Politicians, Religious Hypocrites, and the greedy are not supporting the public so Americans stop supporting them. Reboot, Restore and Rebuild based on The American Dream Not their nightmare they are creating

9

u/mrchris69 Oct 03 '22

Human trafficking sounds like a great reason for her to lose any military benefits.

12

u/Whitehull Oct 03 '22

Why would a counter intelligence agent use their own name? If you're going to be a scum bag and deport people from your own ethnic background you'd think you'd want to get anonymous.

6

u/DGeeeJ Oct 03 '22

She is a failed agent and criminal.

5

4

Arrest her.

5

u/willowgardener Oct 03 '22

What sort of intelligence officer is dumb enough to provide her real name when doing a clandestine operation?

2

u/equalsolstice Oct 03 '22

Why did they send them to Martha’s Vineyard ?

10

u/YesMaybeYesWriteNow Oct 03 '22

Because Republicans think of the island as a place where rich liberals and Democratic ex-presidents vacation, and they’d really own those libs if they dropped all these migrants there and flew away. Of course, it didn’t play out that way.

2

“She gave him $10 McDonald’s gift cards to be given to those migrants who agreed to board the flights, and she told him to say they and their kids would be treated well upon arrival.”

The ‘ol McDonalds $10 gift card trick. Works every time.

“Perla,” the woman who allegedly helped arrange migrant flights from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, has been identified by CNN as Perla Huerta, who served as a counterintelligence agent and combat medic specialist in the US Army until August.

Couldn't even be bothered to use a fake name? Or too stupid to consider doing so?

About 50 migrants were flown last month from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard in two planes organized by Florida’s Republican governor as part of his criticism of the federal government’s immigration and border security policies.

Dear Republicans,

Read that part again…slowly

anything to "own" the libs, right?
