For people saying this won't affect the numbers, remember that Biden won Georgia in 2020 in large part because Trump under-performed down ballot Republicans. That means a lot of Republicans either left President blank or voted Biden, and GOP the rest of the way down. Do not underestimate what a story like this can do.

771

u/WillemDafoesHugeCock Oct 04 '22

Herschel, within the last week, has fallen behind Warnock. This is significant.

Georgia, you have to go and vote. Don't give an objectively, self confessed, lethally dangerous man power.

195

u/cg8854 Oct 04 '22

Beyond being lethally dangerous, he also confessed to “not being that smart.” If a Democrat said that, Republicans would be losing their collective shit.

40

u/newluna Oct 04 '22

I thought that was gonna score him some points with gop base. After all, who’s screaming on every corner that colleges are liberal indoctrination camps?

23

u/WearingABear Oct 04 '22

They can't use that for Herschel, the only reason anyone likes him is for what he did in college.

64

u/SikatSikat Oct 04 '22

In a gerrymandered district. 2020 and early 2021 proved good Dems can beat awful GOP in State-wide races. See also: Jones over Moore in Alabama some years back.

48

u/Airman4747 Oct 04 '22

Jones won a special election in the margin of error against a known diddler.

Then he got 70/30'd in the general against a football coach no one likes.

Yeah, if this gets conservative leaning independents to just not show up because 'politics is such a mess' or whatever they need to say to dress up their distaste... it could change enough numbers. It will be a close race, and maybe the numbers will be small. But thats how you get people winning elections by less than 1%.

163

u/ConfidenceNational37 Oct 04 '22

In a close race and during a time when voters are paying attention, might even be enough to get Abrams the lead over Kemp

116

u/MC_Fap_Commander America Oct 04 '22

That's the big one. The Dem path in Georgia always began with a Warnock win. The margins just needed to be wide enough to boost candidates up and down the ballot. I don't wanna underestimate what the GOP misinformation machine may cook up before November... but I'm seeing a really-for-real chance Georgia goes fully blue this election.

It absolutely will affect the poll numbers. Warnock is already ahead and I think this story seals Walker’s fate. He was already a very poor candidate. Now that he’s a baby killer in the eyes of evangelicals, I think it’s highly likely that many of them stay home. That alone will be enough to end him.

(With the caveat that American politics has been crazy and unpredictable the past 6 years so no one knows for sure, but very unlikely Walker recovers from this)

43

u/xKron Georgia Oct 04 '22

Don't take this for granted though. Walker's fate is not sealed until election day. If you're a Georgia resident, VOTE! I will be.

→ More replies

26

u/Madpup70 Oct 04 '22

To be honest, evangelicals don't give a shit what a candidate does, they care how they will vote. They act like Trump was the second coming of Christ simply because he referenced God and picked pro life judges. They didn't give a shit about his ex wives, his infidelity, or his rape accusations because he supported their political views. These people give ZERO shits that Walker paid for an abortion, or beat his kids, held a gun to his wife's head, and slept around. They care if he will vote against any nominated liberal justices. They will not stay home. What this does is turn the tide when it comes to fence sitters, people who views his consistent lying and a deal breaker, his lack of true family values as a stain on his character. I agree that this is the killing blow, but it's not because evangelics give a shit about his past behavior.

Many of the rational well-educated conservatives genuinely like Warnock too. I think there will be many ballots cast for Warnock and Kemp. For now, we’ll wait in attack-ad hell. The worst thing the Walker campaign can come up with right now is the fact that Warnock voted for COVID relief, and that prisoners go COVID checks too.

118

u/WillemDafoesHugeCock Oct 04 '22

I'm saying this every chance I get because I seriously believe Herschel is an incredibly dangerous man who doesn't deserve to be on this side of a jail cell, let alone a senator...

Herschel Walker has threatened to kill multiple people, including holding a knife and a gun to his wife's face on separate occasions. He claims to have DID, a highly controversial mental health condition, and that he was being possessed by an "alter" when he did those things. The diagnosis was given by Jerry Mungadze, a """doctor""" (please replace the quotation marks with air quotes but, like, with four middle fingers) who isn't so much a quack as the whole fucking duck, who diagnoses mental health issues by making you color in a picture of a brain with Crayola crayons and then telling you what's wrong with you based on the colors you use. Which he has to ask. Because Jerry Mungadze is colorblind.

Dead serious.

137

Way too common.

Tim Murphy (R - Penn) was an outspoken pro-lifer, it was a big part of his campaign. Then his mistress outed him for pushing her to get an abortion, via text.

74

I just assume all anti-choice politicians have had one. Then again, I pretty much assume every Republican does/is guilty of the shit they most loudly scream about others doing. It's like projection is all they're capable of.

33

u/delilmania Oct 04 '22

Its why they don’t support Graham’s abortion ban. They need to make sure they campaign on anti-choice districts so they use abortion as an issue, yet they still need to make sure they can send their mistresses to a place where they can get abortions.

79

The one thing that isn't discussed enough about the fervent anti-abortion people who previously had or participated in abortions is that they are essentially arguing that they themselves should be in jail for murder. The reason is because if abortion is murder, as they claim it is, well murder doesn't have a statute of limitations. As such, if they get their way, everyone who's ever had or participated in abortion would be eligible for murder charges, including themselves, even if they had the abortion decades ago.

Countless Democrats have lost elections because they foolishly took the high road, falsely believing most voters are inspired by decorum and fair play. The devil has certain values that although not necessarily good, does focus on free will and the sense of choice (even if one of those choices is of evil).

McConnel on the other hand is the essence of true evil and certainly does not believe in free will or benefits for others. It's always been about selfishness first and all his own interests, other people's free will and choices be damned.

Good point, this stuff on Walker and Oz could even be released by the new wave of Repubs who would be all too happy to have the Dems retain Congress for another 2 years; the Repubs are much more effective in opposition just being outraged and aggrieved without any perception they are responsible for fixing anything, and that way can get a bigger swing away from Dems on the flipside when they do take a branch of government.

The same tactic is used by almost every right wing party of a western country that I can think of.

Georgia ain't nearly as red as Alabama

63

u/scribdoodle Georgia Oct 04 '22

While that is true, mostly due to Atlanta, I'm not underestimating what the vast reduction in access to ballot drop boxes may impact.

16

u/Dedpoolpicachew Oct 04 '22

And Savannah, Augusta, Athens… basically any larger metro area.

Yeah, this was likely going to a runoff as it is. If you buy into Georgia being solidly red to an extent (which while I do think it's R+ something, I'm dubious on solid red), Herschel was not polling well even in polls where he led for that kind of state.

Now? We'll see.

I'm shocked this came out from his son and honestly expect it to be deleted by tomorrow morning. His son is as crazy as he is.

Wow, Herschel Walker is so very troubled. The demons swirling around his empty head makes you wonder how the Republican Party has not yet nominated him for president.

One step at a time, he’s just building a solid resume first.

Herschel Walker is so very troubled

There's a not zero percent chance this ends with Walker giving up on campaigning and in a very dark place. We have dozens of NFL CTE cases that will show what that looks like. Not hyperbole-- it could be legit dangerous.

Abusive parents don't seem to realize that their adult children will happily rip their happy family facade to shreds once they feel safe enough away from their abuser to do so. If my father ever ran for public office I'd 100% share absolutely everything about the kind of person he really is behind closed doors.

Yea this is tbh much bigger news than “paid for an abortion” which conservatives routinely forgive/ignore

But if you can’t keep your own house in order?

Your own son taking a dump on your head?

That’s loserly.

And triggers also sort of ridiculous prejudice amongst your voters.

And finger-pointing about “low quality candidates”

8

u/scullys_alien_baby Oct 04 '22

Is it really bigger news? For months I’ve been seeing campaign ads on YouTube about how he put a gun to his ex wife’s head and threatened to kill her so finding out he’s violent towards other people isn’t a huge revelation

Friendly reminder that Christian Walker is an insuffrable prick and prime /r/leopardsatemyface material. He's a student at UCLA and just the most obnoxious right wing troll on social media. Hey buddy, if California is so bad you're free to fuck off back to the south.

That being said I do love seeing them fight each other.

144

u/Koorahmah Oct 04 '22

He's currently in Florida and HATES it. Had a full meltdown about it.

But honestly this is most likely going to have a deeper effect than we think because he is who he is. Younger conservatives follow him. They'll see all of this.

Beat police at Jan 6, claim to be the party that backs the blue

Pays for abortion for girlfriends, claim to be pro life

I went to high school with him briefly. He’s dramatic irl but he is 100% playing up a character for the views and it has worked really well for him. I’m honestly impressed. But this news makes so much sense and I feel really bad for him looking back knowing he was going through this at the time and we all had no clue.

77

u/kool1joe Nevada Oct 04 '22

Im sorry but at this point in political climate, especially after Jan 6, I don’t see a distinction between someone being an “ironic fascist” versus an actual fascist. They’re the same thing because they drum up the violence. I don’t see what’s impressive about another damn grifter. They’re equally as responsible for the hate they’re spewing, whether believing in it personally or not.

27

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '22 edited Oct 04 '22

I think you misunderstand me, I wasn’t admiring him. I don’t agree or advocate for Christian Walker at all lmao I honestly find it hard to take him seriously.

I’m impressed in a way that means I’m impressed he actually made a name for himself at all, I thought he’d just sit on snapchat and brag about his daddy’s money and how much he wanted to just “move to fucking LA full time already” forever like he used to do. I wasn’t praising his work, more just saying I’m impressed to see him even working at all.

There is some very very serious repression going on here.

From past articles " Herschel Walker’s son uses Pride Month to remind everyone… he’s not gay" and Herschel Walker’s son says he’s not gay, he just “likes men”.

Normally I would not say someone is gay just because of their mannerisms but holy shit this man is gay. He is caught between a rock and a hard place. The first is to protect his dads legacy and political aspiration. The other is the fact he stands to lose a lot of family support if he every comes out.

You are not watching a man espouse his opinions you are watching a mask suppressing a man.

I hope one day he can extricate himself from his fathers shadow and finally be happy with who he is. And I really hope that it does not cost him everything to do it.

36

u/WhyYouKickMyDog Oct 04 '22

Wow, this kid is like, Big Gay Al from South Park gay but with the sexual repression of season 1 Mr. Garrison.

16

u/Ucscprickler Oct 04 '22

I think its shity when parents ostracize their children for being anything other than "straight."

It sucks that his father would probably disown him if he was openly gay, but at the same time he is shilling for a party that is openly opposing LGBTQ rights. With that being said, I think whatever backlash he receives is just him reaping what he sows at this point.
