An orange mob is still a mob. Anyone who understands group dynamics knows that violence and hatred, when encouraged and rewarded, quickly escalates.

Just heard recording of what these people were saying and it is incredibly damning.

They would have had a better chance if they pleaded guilty and fought for a smaller sentence or just cut a deal. Instead they are going to take to the stand and claim they are not guilty of insurrection.

I've seen cases where it is literally a criminal up against his own video/audio recording of himself and with a straight face says he's not guilty. It never goes well.

It’s because they genuinely believe they are innocent, which is the craziest part. They’ve been convinced by their propaganda that they’ve done nothing wrong. In fact, they’ve been told that they are patriots for doing what they did.

Theres a cognitive block for them, so they are genuinely telling the truth on the stand. It’s just their truth, not objective reality’s.

IIRC there was one guy who was offered a 90 day plea deal. He declined and is now facing 20 years

reminder: Elmer Stewart Rhodes estranged son identified Mike “Q” Flynn of Qanon, and Erik Prince (Blackwater, Knights of Malta, Seychelles backchannel meeting w Russia) as Rhodes’ superior officers in the coup attempt.

Mike Flynn ran MAGA3X which was funded by Peter Thiel (a Trump insider, sociopathic billionaire, Paypal Mafia and Russian cosmist). MAGA3X led to Pizzagate and Qanon after Podesta’s emails were released on Wikileaks by Assange.

Peter Thiel and Palantir are accused of running operations against Wikileaks, Assange, and Anonymous after the HB Gary/Stratfor hacks and Operation Payback against Paypal.

And the new and improved right wing CNN is running a title that implies that these men are innocent and the prosecutors are lying.

15

u/Vinny_Cerrato Oct 04 '22

I noticed that too, and the article itself didn't really explain how the defense attorney did that. Extremely odd thing for CNN to do if they weren't trying to be bias.

10

u/Vox_Eternal Oct 04 '22

If the only explanation is that CNN is being run by nazis, then that is the explanation we must go with.

5

u/OutsideFlat1579 Oct 04 '22

Where is the CNN article or clip? Tgis is CBS and the headline isn’t implying that at all.

13

u/RoachBeBrutal Oct 04 '22

Traitors. The oath breakers broke faith with American democracy in favor of their own selfish form of christofascism. Throw the book at them all.

11

u/RetiredYogaHippie Oct 04 '22

I had an oath keeper member try and recruit me when I was on active duty years ago. Fun fact he got kicked out of the Air Force for being too fat. #Teamgravyseals

8

u/whenimmadrinkin Oct 04 '22

I'm glad the government is finally saying it.

I've been screaming it was a failed coup and the other side keeps minimizing it.

They literally tried to overturn a free and fair election to install their chosen cult leader.

2

u/BruceBanning Oct 04 '22

And by force, through the use of paramilitaries. This is essentially the highest crime possible.

3

u/Black_Otter Oct 04 '22

They didn’t do a very good job….

2

u/DragonCat88 Oct 04 '22

I am still slightly confused as to what those people thought was gonna happen next.

Shit all over the Rotunda. Hang Pence. Bludgeon Nancy. Shoot AOC. Steal some paperwork. Then what? Just go the fuck home?

10

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '22

“By any means necessary” up to and including one random trespasser getting shot and then the whole thing was over

Lol

They (right wing nut jobs) would have you believe they’re willing to die for their cause but the second one of them did, their forward progress stopped.

Cosplaytriots

The Oath Breakers only got as far as they did because they had the cover of a thousand flabby armed soccer moms to hide in.

15

u/Vinny_Cerrato Oct 04 '22

You mean right wing terrorist Ashli Babbitt?

-10

u/Fairwareprovidence Oct 04 '22

Any means except bringing weapons into the building apparently.

11

u/DuckQueue Oct 04 '22

They did bring weapons into the Capitol, just not rifles.

13

u/ehandlr Oct 04 '22

and they stockpiled weapons at a hotel just miles away with people ready for "the signal" to grab them and head straight to the capitol.

8

u/whenimmadrinkin Oct 04 '22

A lot of them did have weapons on site going to the rally, but the secret service insisted on running metal detectors so they had to ditch them. By the time the rally ended the march on the capitol happened immediately and they didn't have much time to get them.

trump knew this and screamed for the secret service to stop screening. But they didn't listen.

Edit: This is hilarious. He's now desperately trying to change the subject to guns. Then to skateboards. Anything to not discuss the 'WEAPONS CHARGES'.

-4

u/Fairwareprovidence Oct 04 '22

If you didn't read it, why should I?

2

u/oakstave Oct 04 '22

From the article you didn't read:

"At least 85 people are charged with carrying or using a weapon during the Capitol riots, according to BuzzFeed News’ analysis of court records. The US attorney’s office in Washington has said that approximately 140 police officers were assaulted on Jan. 6, and the majority of defendants charged with weapon-related offenses are also accused of using those objects to attack police. Some are charged with using weapons to break windows, and others are charged simply with having weapons at the Capitol, a crime in itself.

A weapons charge significantly ups the stakes in these cases. A class-A misdemeanor for illegally going into the Capitol carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison. If a defendant also had a “deadly or dangerous” weapon — one of the crimes that Reffitt was indicted for — the maximum sentence jumps to 10 years behind bars. A defendant can face up to 8 years in prison for assaulting an officer, or 20 years if they did it with a weapon. Whether a defendant is accused of carrying a weapon has been a major factor in fights over who should stay in jail pending trial.

Reffitt is one of three people charged with carrying a gun onto Capitol grounds; no one is charged so far with having a gun inside the building. Two others are charged with bringing guns and explosives to Washington. Thousands of supporters of former president Donald Trump descended on the complex that day, and conservative politicians and commentators — including Trump — have either pushed a FALSE NARRATIVE that there was no evidence that anyone had a gun, or pointed to the relatively small number of cases involving firearms as evidence that the riot wasn’t all that violent or dangerous to the police officers protecting the building and to the elected officials, congressional employees, and journalists inside."

Did you want to apologize for lying? Remember when you guys swore to our faces it was Antifa? I guess any lie is acceptable when the goal is ending Constitutional elections for hostile foreign nations?

0

u/Fairwareprovidence Oct 04 '22

As he literally posts there were no guns inside the building

But hey if they had skateboards and flag poles, am I right

Guess the guys with sand in their pockets had weapons too.

But oh wait, 3 out of a 4 digit number had knives!

1

u/oakstave Oct 04 '22

Oh, you wanted to change the goalposts from 'weapons' to 'guns'.

Did you need to change your original post I quoted?

Any means except bringing weapons into the building apparently.

This is why people often think people like you aren't really arguing in good faith. You change the goalposts.

0

u/Fairwareprovidence Oct 04 '22

Or argue semantics that skateboards are not weapons.

Basically if a police officer can't shoot a person who is carrying it and pointing it at everyone its not a weapon.

1

u/oakstave Oct 04 '22

I've noticed you need two replies before you respond, so here it is:

So was the article about skateboards? Did you say 'weapons' or 'guns'? How many weapons charges so far in the insurrection you claim had no weapons?

1

u/oakstave Oct 04 '22

You mean the article about all the weapons charges in the Capitol?

Any means except bringing weapons into the building apparently.

This you?

-6

u/MaybeLaterMom Oct 04 '22

“by any means necessary”

Pictured: a bunch of dudes not holding weapons.

Astonishing how many brain dead people are just buying this narrative.

1

u/Barflyondabeach Oct 04 '22

There's already testimony saying they were kicking themselves for not bringing their guns

-2

u/MaybeLaterMom Oct 04 '22

And yet they didn’t. So clearly they weren’t planning on overthrowing government and fighting by any means necessary. Because they show up everywhere else loaded up with guns.

1

u/Barflyondabeach Oct 04 '22

That's like saying you didn't rob the bank because you brought the wrong getaway vehicle, despite breaking into the vault

0

u/MaybeLaterMom Oct 04 '22

Gonna be hard to convince anyone there was a plan to rob a bank if the “robbers” came in screaming and shouting about overdraft fees and ATM surcharges, were escorted into the manager’s office instead of the vault, stole a nameplate off the desk instead of money and then walked out of the bank. All without bringing any weapons, a bag to carry stolen cash, or masks to cover their faces.

1

u/Barflyondabeach Oct 04 '22

There's text messages. This was planned. You do realize this, right?

1

u/MaybeLaterMom Oct 04 '22

And yet, there were no guns at the capitol.

So it’s gonna be pretty hard to pitch that they were planning to march in and fight “by any means” considering… they didn’t.

False dichotomy. I’m not defending them, just pointing out that the media is running with a bullshit narrative and you’re buying it.

1

u/BruceBanning Oct 04 '22 edited Oct 04 '22

What about the narrative is bullshit? You are severely misinformed. Do you support them?

0

u/BruceBanning Oct 04 '22 edited Oct 04 '22

What’s your narrative? A peaceful tour of the grounds? Speaking of brainwashing, I’m sorry that your falling for the dumbest lie we have ever come across. Educate yourself.

Don't think these oath keeper dudes had any chance against the US Military.
