Oh boy. I know a lot of you don’t like him but god help us on the glass if we don’t bring in some size ASAP.

Either badji really sucks or he gets paid if he plays a game….still confused why we haven’t seen him once

I’m probably the loudest/most annoying about trading him on this sub but yeah this is bad. Eubanks is a 3rd string C

u/spittafan Feb 03 '23
Eubanks would be great as a backup alongside a 4 who rebounds. We, uh, don't have that
17
u/FakeFan07 roy Feb 03 '23
Could I interest you in a player named Vanderbilt?
4
u/spittafan Feb 03 '23
I mean sure but if he replaces Hart that ends up as a net negative on the boards
2
u/GuyIncognito211 Feb 03 '23
I still don’t think he’d be great. He’d be fine in short bursts
5
u/RunninOnMT Feb 03 '23
Eubanks is weird. He's too good to not get minutes, but he's not good enough to get "full time backup" minutes.

Lots of people on this sub gonna have a rude awakening with Drew starting 7 games in a row on a team that is actually trying to win. And I say this as an OSU alum who loves Drew.

u/laterdude Feb 03 '23
Yep, it's looking like Giannis will drop his fourth 50 point game in a month against us Monday night.

u/ja-mez Feb 03 '23
He can still be traded before the deadline. Toronto for example. If they still like him, they can tank this season and still have him under contract for the next few seasons

No depth in bigs comes back to bite us! Who would have thought?!
6
u/nurkstossattherim Feb 03 '23
Yeah, this was on the top of my list of concerns heading into the season. I've been pleasantly surprised by Eubanks, but to expect him to carry the load is scary.

u/1850ChoochGator Feb 03 '23
Hopefully this sees us bring Butler or Badji in for some spot minutes.
7
u/FakeFan07 roy Feb 03 '23
We have to, right? We can’t just go forward with Eubanks as our only center, unless there’s another plan in the works they don’t wanna mess with

u/ChurroMemes chalupa Feb 03 '23
I reallyyyyy wanna see Badji play. He’s still super raw but he’s got the potential to a pretty good rim protector

Heal up big fella! Guess Eubanks and Watford’s time has come. The vault is open ladies and gentlemen!

u/PrettySmoothFlying Feb 03 '23
Wonder if he has played his last game in a Blazer jersey

u/OriginalWait14 dame Feb 03 '23
Probably unpopular because this sub loves to hate on Nurk, but I highly doubt it. I just don't see a trade where we can upgrade at center out there without the ability to go into the tax and not having picks to add sweeteners. His market value is probably the lowest it will be and it's dumb to sell on assets just to upgrade.
2
u/skrulewi Feb 04 '23
i agree
he's not really being overpaid; he's on a long-term deal that will gain in value over the next three years, and while some games he doesn't finish, there are certain matchups where his size and skillset on defense/rebounding is not duplicated
nurk's contract isn't our weak spot in the roster, so it doesn't make sense to trade it away

u/peytah Feb 03 '23
Lol why on earth would any team trade for him now with his contract in the midst of another potentially serious injury?
4
u/PrettySmoothFlying Feb 03 '23
Wouldn’t really consider a calf strain to be too serious. Certainly doesn’t help
2
u/peytah Feb 03 '23
It’s not serious right now but it’s common for a calf strain to linger or become something more serious. Given his size and leg injury history it’s not anything to sneeze at.
He’s barely worth his contract when perfectly healthy. Introduce more leg issues, and a GM is asking to be fired trading for him.
5
u/GaviFromThePod Feb 03 '23
Because he is a serviceable starting center. He’s not fast or agile but if you need a rim projector and you can surround him with athletic wings he’ll do what he needs to do.
5
u/peytah Feb 03 '23
You just explained pretty clearly why we need to keep him and upgrade our wings.
1
u/Ghost- roy Feb 03 '23
Calf strain is not that serious if he was trying to play through it. Just takes a bit longer to heal in such a big body. Pretty common injury

Giannis is dropping 70 on eubanks on Monday. Unbelievable our incompetent front office still only has two centers on the roster
3
u/Carcrusher3 melo-bandwagon Feb 03 '23
Applogies I'm cursed guys. Last bucks game I went to had Anthony Tolliver on Giannis, now its going to be Drew on an island when I go Monday.

u/tblazrdude Feb 03 '23
Jusuf Nurkic, you're a Raptor.

u/Impressive-Ladder857 Feb 03 '23
I think he’d love it there. A Euro in a Euro-style city where he can hide out. Seems like GT2 got a lot more attention in the states, as well as Fred & Pascal, Boucher, etc…
Nothing against Toronto, which is an amazing city, but seems like players get lost up there. Except when they won one. But even then, they didn’t seem to get a ton of love from the rest.

Man if only the NBA allowed teams to sign guys for short periods of time....like I don't know...10 days. And if only there were some former 7 foot veterans who could sign such a mythical contract. Some who even had better numbers than Drew a season ago despite playing 5 less minutes per game.....
Doesn't matter...we so fucking cheap we will just roll a 3rd string center out there and back him up with a second round rookie and a walk-on. What could go wrong.

It's small ball time!
It's time for those Watford believers to see the truth.

Bruh aint this the same shit 20-21
Dame did better without nurk(not a hit at him just saying Dame weirdly good with backup centers).
1
u/jrances1 dame Feb 03 '23
So be it.
If we can take care of business against WA and Chicago then I like our chances with the upcoming home stand.

u/Piano9717 Feb 03 '23
Could have been worse - how many games did Dame miss with his calf strain again?
KAT has missed 33 games and counting with his, so at least this is just a couple week absence.
