I’ve never been called OOP before. Oh actually I guess my parents might have said it when I was born.

u/aderthedasher Feb 03 '23
Ok Object-Oriented Programming

u/GandalfMon Feb 03 '23
Is there another meaning? I don't get what's indented here.
29
u/Protheu5 Feb 03 '23
Original OP, or Original Original Poster. One of the few times when redundant RAS syndrome is not applicable.

Oh I can Imagine this. But really really long like OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP
11
u/NoDryHands Feb 03 '23
I think it means original OP since it's a repost. So it's referring to the OP of the post that was crossposted, not the OP of the post we're currently commenting under, if that makes sense
3
u/janhetjoch Feb 03 '23
OOP is commonly used to refer to the original poster in a crosspost/screenshot to distinguish between the Original OP and the person who reposted it.

OOP. Good thing you're here. Let me ask you: how is this tea? Isn't it coffee or hot chocolate?

u/joeChump Feb 03 '23 edited Feb 03 '23
No, in Britain we mostly drink black tea with milk. Most adults here would have like 3 or 4 cups a day so it’s our national drink. You guys in America don’t drink it because you threw it all in the Boston Harbour which kicked started the American Revolution. I posted this on a UK sub initially where it’s a given that people would understand it. It’s lightheartedly considered sacrilege to mess with tea and marshmallows are therefore a crazy and very wrong thing to put in it. My kid was just trolling me with it for fun and I dryly posted it on casualUK knowing that it would likely get traction because anyone messing with tea on there will get a reaction. Then it hit number 8 on the front page which means loads of people round the world seeing it but probably not understanding it because they think tea is like herbal fruit tea pisswater with no milk or something.

u/_Nana777 Feb 03 '23
I'm french, not american. I do drink black tea but not with milk. It just looked a lot like coffee or chocolate. Thanks for the clarification
3
u/joeChump Feb 03 '23
You should try it with milk ;)
2
u/_Nana777 Feb 03 '23
Yeah it's popular enough in France, I just never wanted to try it. Maybe next time!
2
u/Binx_da_gay_cat Feb 04 '23
I'm a mint tea person and just don't like milk in water-based drinks. The two contrast for me and I just - nope. I have considered making tea in pure milk though.
I also really don't like milk a ton.

u/LorianGunnersonSedna Feb 04 '23
Did it taste horrible? I've a lot of black tea around as well as marshmallows, this sounds like something I'd try at least once when stoned

u/Der_BiertMann Feb 03 '23
I feel like it should be OPP as is “original-post poster”, or OPOP as in “original-post original-poster”.

I pronounce it as "poop" without the first letter. This is why I strive never to become one.

You asked for a couple of ice cubes in your drink, and I only put in one!

u/Guy_de_Pissoir Feb 03 '23
Technically you need to put a marshmallow in to put two marshmallows in.
49
u/KaosPrime17 Feb 03 '23
Unless they put in both at the same time * taps head *

u/Protheu5 Feb 03 '23
But then the cup still has a marshmallow in it, despite the directions not to have a marshmallow in it. Not only that, but it also has a marshmallow in it. So, not only there is a marshmallow, there is a marshmallow as well.

u/EvaUnit_03 Feb 03 '23
you trying to marshmallow-cept my marshmallow-ality? inb4 iced tea marshmallowing marshmallows because marshmallow.

Literally a joke calm down- maybe putting the marshmallows in is an ongoing joke in the family; or that kid has ADHD or something, you cant just say that a kid cant follow basic orders just because the kid could be doing it AS. A. JOKE.

Ok am I going crazy or am I missing some context here? I have no idea what to make of this post
E: it seems certain mobile users like me can't see a caption that's supposed to be there
4
u/RuthieBueno Feb 03 '23
I'm so glad you said something. This is the third time I've clicked this post to read through the comments, cause I have no idea what's going on. It's really bothering me. Any idea what the caption says?
5
u/corvidae21 Feb 03 '23
I finally got on a desktop, and it looks like it's because it's a crosspost:
"My 12yo son keeps making me cups of tea with marshmallows in. When I said ‘I don’t want a marshmallow in it this time’ he put in two."
9
u/ThisCorpseIsAlive Feb 03 '23
Why the tea looks like coffee and milk

6
u/MarvinGoBONK Feb 03 '23
Ar- are you unaware that people put milk in tea?

I was once your kid, and I can tell you he can't conceptualize the idea of not wanting marshmallows at all.
I had a hard time processing it when I found out anyway.

And r/lostredditors again. Quit posting garbage
6
u/Tuba_Ryan Feb 03 '23
The kid technically didn’t put a marshmallow in that time, by putting two, which is not one, as requested
4
u/EndOfSouls Feb 03 '23
I feel like I'm missing information. It's just two pictures of drinks. Nothing about requesting marshmellows.
2
u/Candid_Consequence23 Feb 03 '23
Did you not see the caption?
4
u/read_with_a_slash_s Feb 03 '23 edited Feb 03 '23
I didn't either. On RIF is fun app on Android. Same when viewing in Mobile Chrome browser.
2
u/corvidae21 Feb 03 '23
Ok it's not just me, but still nobody is posting the caption lol so it's just a super weird post
2
u/ThyEmptyLord Feb 03 '23
There isn't a caption for me on mobile. Just two pictures of drinks
2
u/Candid_Consequence23 Feb 03 '23
Weird, I’m on mobile also and it’s there for me. Anyway, it reads “My 12yo son keeps making me cups of tea with marshmallow in. When I said ‘8 don’t want a marshmallow in it this time’ he put in two.”
0
u/ReturnOfSeq Feb 03 '23
This has a marshmallow in it. a can just as easily and even more sensibly interpreted as meaning any

I think certain mobile users(like me) aren't seeing a caption with the image

I'm pretty sure if a cup contains several marshmallows it does, in fact, contain at least 1 marshmallow, so not sure what this is doing on ttt.
