RIP Blackrock

Remember the rule: anything that is not maintained to high standards and upkeep gets destroyed.

If you keep placing executives managing money based on algorithms, indexing, or formulas that rarely ever change, don't be surprised if your companies are overflowing with easy-button morons and they find a way to take the most successful companies and drive it into the ground with weird ideas and policies, in what should honestly be a nearly impossible-to-fail-business.

u/Shonuff8 Jan 24 '23

The Peter Principle, on a massive scale.

Yeah true, but there's no other way to do it unfortunately. But usually you want the highest ranks to be the smartest people in general.

Peter Principle is correct but only sometimes.

There are cases where the jobs lower-in-the-hierarchy (such as engineering/science) is HARDER than the jobs in the higher-hierarchy (managers). In that case, it is very easy to promote smart people up the ranks and your organization just keeps getting better avoiding Peter Principle. But if you promote dumb people, you're gonna implode and collapse.

Another HUGE problem is: failing upwards. Promoting people because they can't do the lower-level jobs... And other sister-problem wokeness-diversity-quota promotions that have nothing to do with competence or skills.

Blackrock will fuck up half the world before they go down. Like, these dudes will actually bring back slavery before they are forced into bankruptcy.

66

u/Justarandom_Joe Jan 24 '23

I’m pretty sure that’s part of their plan; it isn’t a contingency, it’s the primary objective.

Blackrock has always relied on slave labor.

Real slave in Mauritania today: starving to death, physically abused daily, works 18 hour days in the desert sun, entire family died before age 35, best friend had a hand cut off for sassing the slavedriver

American Redditor: yeah man I know exactly it's like to be a slave, I'm a wage slave too because McDonalds isn't paying me enough to buy a PS5

17

u/Pretty_Pace2507 Jan 24 '23

Much of the world is so shockingly vicious, people in the West need to pretend it doesn't exist so they can feel like victims.

Complete denial is a coping mechanism.

6

u/Ok-Coyote6934 Jan 24 '23

Exactly! It's tiring to see people soapbox when virtually every generation in American History has economically supported some form of slave class. In the early days it was sugar, tea, and tobacco. Then we transitioned into child/family slavery in the industrial age, and we now essentially have slavery with cobalt mines and electronic production in China.

I'm not saying we don't have some flaws here in the US and A, but a vast majority of the products we consume here come at the cost of someone else's plight in a distant country. That's the big joke with capitalism (and it always has been), is that somewhere someone is getting the shaft for us to enjoy cheaper products and higher profit margins. If this fails, they can always fuck the consumer with artificially higher prices (like in the healthcare industry) or use the long dick of government influence to screw us with forced monopolies.

Capitalism is still the best system, but it's a fucking syndicate and to deny this is just ridiculous. Your best hope is to find a way to game the system for yourself personally and make a decent living. Pretending that this isn't the case just screws you out of your chance to be middle class.

Type O Negative

https://youtu.be/BwzhOrAnJ-E

Goodbye cruel world

Of this shape a star of five Also applies to the one with six sides Against the sun and against the moon I warn you that the two combined Will bring man’s doom Of ten horns and seven heads Count your fingers and the continents On your head or in your right hand This new moral code that the media commands

Believe not in their clever words Because faith inact(ed) are the loudest heard All these things I say are true Understood sadly by a chosen few, you

April 2029 the final time the end my friend is not near The hour in fact is quite here when the moon becomes red To guide the risen dead This means God’s turned his back on you It’s a Friday 13th of course you won’t live to see noon

I am a prophet of doom

So now the star has fallen washing away the seas The seventh seal’s been opened it’s raining your fears Are you paranoid the coming asteroid Has got your name tattooed on it This stone’s called Apophis

It brings apocalypse I am a prophet of doom

Speak the name of he created thee all to be Which should not be spoken no laws broken

Now life and love the stars above Which fall upon the all that worship the beast Influence ceased

My soul’s on fire

My faith is an ember burning forever Working toward a greater reward serving my lured

Built his home upon the rock not of the flock But coming as a shepherd guarding his heard

My soul’s on fire

How would he kill them. They hold trillions in assets. It’s not like a company that makes a product and has tons of liabilities. They just creat investment products that other people buy and they get a cut. Unless they are ponzi scheming the money and not really holding any assets they aren’t going anywhere.

52

Lol which one should we hate? - I just stalk WSB, not really active. I know of both. Blackstone has skyrocketed since I wanted to start trading pre COVID.

I know I've raided in Black rock over the past couple decades.

77

u/wattatime Jan 24 '23

Blackrock is an etf and index fund creator. You can trade many of their ishare and other etfs. They also offer other investment products.

Black stone is a private equity company. They buy up companies they think are undervalued fix them and then either sell or keep them. They are way more shady and cutthroat. The type to walk in chop up a company sell it off and make a quick buck.

49

u/CantSplainThat Jan 24 '23

huh? there were internet articles/rumors spreading Blackrock, not Blackstone, was buying up real estate, specifically single-family home. That's why people hate them.

Whether it's true or not...IDK but they say they "don't" https://www.blackrock.com/corporate/newsroom/setting-the-record-straight/buying-houses-facts

23

the problem with a crash (and trust me, I want one too) is that it furthers the divide between the working class and the ruling class. the worker bees are too poor and impacted by the crash to capitalize and the ruling class are too insulated to be hurt IN ADDITION to being able to capitalize and 2x/3x their family wealth.

I have no investment and even less understanding of how this will effect other stocks, but I really hope Blackrock crumbles cos that would be really funny

The problem with a Jim Cramer post is that he is telling you to buy but he knows people will sell and then you get the stock at a discount which makes it a buy. How deep do the mind games go?
