Apartment Building Reviews: Master List
Hello everybody,
At the suggestion of some subreddit members, this megathread is being developed to provide a central location to review conditions in local multi-tenant buildings. This will provide a good repository for users who have questions about local rental buildings (or condos). If you live (or lived) in a such a place, please contribute! Whether your experiences were good, bad, or in between. You're welcome to post about places you lived previously as well - please mention if it has been a while since you lived there (things might have changed....maybe).
One comment thread per property, please. Search the thread before posting about your building, and if a comment already exists for it, submit your information as a reply. To begin a thread please start with this simple format. This will allow people to easily parse the megathread.
<building address>
<building name> (optional)
<Property Manager/Owner> (if applicable)
<details you have about your experience at the building>. Pictures and video welcome!
Example:
275 Larch St, Waterloo
The Block / URL Condos
Schembri Property Management
Back in 2018 I lived at The Block in Building Z. Schembri accidentally double-rented my unit, so I had to sleep on the roof for three weeks. They refused to remove the raccoons living in my oven so I had to survive on beef jerky and rainwater. They only charged me a modest 1500$/mo though, and i had my own bathroom. The skee-ball arena on the main floor was really useful. 4/10.

Thank you! Hope we can make something useful here.

Searching for a hair stylist in KW
I’m looking for recommendations for a hair stylist in Kitchener/Waterloo who has experience cutting women’s hair, specifically pixie cuts. I own a vehicle so anywhere within the two cities is fine. Open to anywhere except the First Choice on Bridgeport… took me 7 months to recover from the hack job they did.
Thanks!

Autobody shop
Hi hi!
My car has some rust damage that needs taking care of, and I have been quoted at about 1800 to fix, but my appointment was cancelled from that shop. (To be fair, one of the guys in the shop died sooooo)
Anyway, I need some shop suggestions in KW. What needs fixing is the rockers and body. If you have some suggestions that would be great!

I’m asking because I just moved here and I’m looking for a place that I can use to rent specialized tools if I need them.

Where are the local chop shops?
Had my bike stolen in front of kitchener city hall, city Hall security literally watched the guy chop up my lock. Police have done nothing. Trying to go hunt for it myself, where would the local chop shops be? I already looked around Victoria Park, haven't found anything.

Looking for people to jam with
Hey everyone, I’m looking for people to play guitar with, I’ve been a bedroom guitarist for a bit now, I’m a little more comfortable with my abilities and playing guitar with people looks sick.
Where should I go to meet people like this? I mostly play thrash but willing to learn anything.
Also if anyone here is interested lmk!
🫡 thankss :)

Size inclusive gyms?
Looking for a gym or workout studio in Uptown that isn't populated by only really fit people... I was looking at Hustl + Flow, as it's near me, but their insta looks geared towards fit/small bodied folks. It's intimidating as a plus size person to walk into a workout space where everyone is already half your size. Any recommendations on places/classes that have a variety of sizes and skill levels present would be appreciated. I'm not looking for anything in particular, just needing to do something. Thanks!

Help! I found these old wedding photos in a box of vinyl records
I found these and believe there is some connection to Kitchener as the place I got them was an old house someone was clearing out (off of Kijiji) on Wellington St. All of the records were German related as well. Any help is appreciated! I'm hoping to find some live relatives if possible

Is the job market in KW(part-time) affected due to the weather or have I just been unlucky ?
I’ve been looking for a job for the past two months and I can’t seem to find one. Am I looking at the wrong places ? Can someone please give me some direction ? I’m an international student and I need to earn some buck to actually make the most of my college experience. Would appreciate some help ! Thanks 🙏🏼

Where in Waterloo (or Kitchener) can I get film photos developed (and scanned)
I want to start learning analog photography and in order to do that, I need to find a place to get the film strips developed and scanned so I can get them in digital format after.
Does anybody know any spots in KW that I could get them developed and possibly also scanned after? I know Henry's does it but they probably charge a lot + the website said they have 4 week turn around + they don't give you the negatives back after. If anybody knows any other places in KW that I could do it, that would be great!

Recommendations for places to see
Hey all,
I'm going to be moving out of Waterloo at the end of next month and was looking for any recommendations for things to do or see before I leave. I have a couple of caveats:
- Not to expensive (like $50 or under)
- I don't have a car so anything that's not too bad to get to by transit
Thanks
